“Earth to Alex?” Rosie brings me out of my daydream and hovers above me. “Don't you want to see where you'll work?”

I jump to my feet, eager to see the place where I will spend most of my days. “Is it near that catapult thing?” I saw the thing, to my horror, by the carting place.

“You mean the bungee rocket?" she laughs. “No, but you'll be able to see it for sure. We can ride it someday?”

“No!” I gasp. The thought of being catapult into the air scares the shit out of me. “I rather just stay on the ground.”

“Whatever. I'll have to make you a bit more adventures Alex,” Rosie laughs to me as she grabs her bag. I only take my phone - in case James decides to call - and some money.

Rosie closes the door with her key and after we exit the building, we take a left to walk back to the road. We are just about to leave our flat behind us when we hear someone yell to us.

“Wait Blondie’s!” Both I and Rosie turn around to see Harry running towards us. “I'm coming with you.”

I roll my eyes as he finally reaches us. “Where do you think we're going?” I ask him as he is so sure of himself.

“To your work, which is my work as well.”

“You've got to be kidding me,” I whisper under my breath.

My feet start to walk a bit faster hoping to get away from Rosie and Harry, but they catch up with me, although they stay behind me. I fake admiring the flowers and trees surrounding the road. They are impressive but seem out of place in the dry land I saw in the car. I try to focus on the palm trees, but my mind is racing with all the possibility’s considering Harry. He knew it would piss me off that I have to work with him, I could tell from the tone of his voice. What if he's working next to me or something, I wouldn't survive. Everything about him irritates me. Form his stupid bandana and his ripped open jeans to his stupid boots, but most of all the way he talks to me. He wants to offend me, get a reaction but he isn’t getting one.

“Hey Lexie.” I see two pair of flip flops in front of me and when I look up, I see they belong to Harry. He changed his boots, thank god. He also ditched his plaited shirt and is only in his thank top now. My eyes keep stuck on his muscular arms and the black ink on them.

“It's Alex for you,” I manage to say. I have to swallow hard before I look back to his face again. His sunglasses are covering his eyes and I find myself wondering what they looked like. I forgot.

“Sure, Lexie.” He grins to me. “I was wondering if you're coming to the bonfire tonight.”

“Nope.” I want to unpack and rest tonight since I start work tomorrow morning.

“Ah, please?” he pouts, but I'm sure he's faking it. “Rosie won't come if you're not coming.”

I look over my shoulder to see Rosie. She looks to me with her eyebrows slightly raised as she watches us.

“We'll come then.” If he can fake a pout than I can fake a smile.

“Great.” He stops in his track to catch up with Rosie and to annoy him I do the same. He bites on his lip, probably swallowing another rude comment towards me.

We reach an underground tunnel that will take us to the beach. That way people from the resort next to our flat don't have to cross the busy main street. I try to remember it all, but Palas city seems to be bigger than I thought. The tunnel smells weird and I can only imagine the smell after four months of partying. It is also cold here and I am glad to feel the sun again.

We're right at the entrance of the beach. The sea is beautiful now that I can see it stretching over the whole horizon. The hazy sky with the deep blue sea look beautiful together and I can't wait to feel the white sand beneath my feet. I wonder where I have been all my life and why I never visited the sea before. Rivers and ponds were my only understanding of water along with a swimming pool of course. I’m not sure if I and my dad ever went to visit the sea. I only know it from pictures.
