Harry's P.O.V.
I didn't get nervous anymore if I was about to meet her, but today was special. We're going to celebrate my birthday together, with her dad. Liam and his new girlfriend are also going to tag along.
It will be the first time that she's going to see my home. The last months I have been putting it off and for the holidays I traveled to London. Always an excuse ready but she's starting to see right through them and I know that if I want to make this work, which I really do, I should just open my home for her.
It's just like in Palas where it took her weeks to see my room and I don't really know why I didn't want her in it. Maybe because I liked her place more. Maybe I'm just used to my own space. Ever since my family started to push me away, I just found it easier to be on my own. Friends was one thing, but girlfriends didn't even come to mind.Yet, I somehow found myself in the best relationship. The kind where we can be without each other, but are better with each other.
Lexie sure as hell changed my life and the way I think. Even Kate, who used to be one of the only persons who truly knew me, is surprised when she sees me now. I like that we got to help each other. She still hates Ferris Wheel's, I know that after I forced her to join me in the London Eye. The whole ride was spent on the ground while I tried to calm her down. It took me the entire ride to make her stand up. You can imagine the look on everyone's face. Not my best moment as a boyfriend.
But at least she tried and I have to try to let her in to my life more. Talking has become somewhat easy. Sometimes we even discus my dad without me really thinking about it. His name out of my lips before I even get to comprehend it. For long, I was without a home, without a family. I found some sort of base in Palas. That's why even after everything the bitch put me through, I still came back.
When the doorbell rings my mouth turns dry. I really should have picked them up from the train station but she insisted on walking. Maybe she was afraid I would bring them straight to the restaurant. Which I probably would have.
The door opens with a crack like it always does, but just for me. This time the door opens to reveal one person.
She crashes in to me, her body lean like I remember it. It has been two weeks of pure torture without her. Without someone to crack a stupid joke to, no one to laugh back. Without someone to cook food for, no one to eat it but me. Without someone to play games with, no one in my room but me.
So I embrace her, lift her precious soul from the ground and carry her inside. It doesn't take us long to let our lips melt together. The kiss at first always full of passion, teeth and tears. This time even I cry because it feels so good to have her here. Like most fears, once concurred, you wonder why they once even scared you. How can I be afraid from someone like Lexie?
"I've missed you," I breathe in to her ear after her lips move to my neck where they rest, breathless like mine.
"I've missed you more," she argues and uses her hands to pull me closer.
It's like every time we have to say goodbye, I lose a part of myself and then when I see her again, it all crashes back together with such a force that I forget how to breath.
That's probably why her father waited respectfully in the hall way of my apartment building for this moment to pass. It's sfading away and slowly I can breathe for real.
"Bob," I greet the men I already liked before ever even meeting him.
I know from Lexie he hasn't been the best dad but I would have love to have one similar like him.
"Harry," he returns and then pulls me in for a hug just as tight as the first one he gave me at the airport. "Happy birthday son!"
He hands me a bottle of cheap ass wine, that I love dearly, but his real present is him calling me son. Lexie sees it in my eyes, mentioned it the last time we were together.
