45. "I thought you said you lost him."

"Oh Harry!"

I throw another pillow against the mirror. Once upon a time that wall was very dear to me and the knocks on them even more so. But after the tenth day of listening to Harry having sex, I despise the wall.

"Will it ever stop?" I mumble to myself as I roll over and take my phone.

The urge to text him that I like my sleep is big. After having resisted the pull towards his name in my contacts for days, I can't stop myself this time. With the lack of attention from my supposedly still boyfriend I have to do something on this boring evening.

23:44 PM

Alex: I'd appreciate you cutting back on woman for just one night so that I can sleep. Thank you in advance. Your neighbor/oncefriend.

The last words might be a bit over the top, but hey. After the week I had, I think I am entitled to a dramatic ending.

Luckily I haven't bumped in to my mother, but then again, I hid from every blonde middle-aged woman on the beach except for the ones in trouble of course. My dad calls every day at the same time, but I hit ignore every time as well. Harry is M.I.A. whenever our shifts are either together or we take over from each other, he still manages to escape me.

Obviously he is busy. The prove is in the scream I hear. Seriously, what is the thing with screaming HARRY all the time? Don't those girl know that tomorrow someone else gets the honor? Either they are naïve or they don't give a shit.

Instead of a text from Harry I get one from James, which is a pleasant surprise. After four days he finally picked up the phone. He needed that long to cool down in order not to say hurtful things. I should take an example in him the next time I fight with someone. He forgave me but contact has been very scarce.

23:50 PM

James: went by your dad today. He seems to be doing a bit better. How are you?

His text don't send butterflies to my stomach anymore. Instead a big rock settles there as I read it and I almost feel his cold tone. Where I once smiled like crazy, I now frown. The stupidest thing is that I appreciate James more than I have ever done. Harry might be good in bed (judging from another scream) but James is good overall.

23:50 PM

Alex: is he eating again?

It's better to not answer his question since that involves my growing frustration with a certain boy that he doesn't want me to hang out with ever again. Which is more than fair if you ask me.

23:51 PM

James: if you count beer. His eyes did light up a bit when I showed him a vacancy at a depository.

23:51 PM

Alex: thanks for doing that. It means a lot that you even try with him.

23:52 PM

James: of course

23:52 PM

Alex: how are you?

23:52 PM

James: alright. All packed for tomorrow.

23:53 PM

Alex: are you a bit excited to come here?

His answer takes long and I'm afraid the rock in my stomach might grow so big that I'll throw up my home made diner.
