He leans his legs on the balustrade of the window as he breaths in the fresh air of this little town. The silence lingers between us now that we are both dressed but both not ready to face each other. Ava will think something happened but I'm glad we just talked. So much has happened and I like the calmness falling over us. Even when it is unsettling to still not know what this all means.
"Did you sleep okay?" I ask standing up to lean against the cabinet.
I need to put some distance between us or I won't be able to control myself. The way his long curls fall over his face and his lips are a pinky red don't make it easy for me to keep a distance. I might have learned that I am not alone, that doesn't mean that my instinct to cuddle is gone. And I don't want to lose that, but I have to keep it at bay until I know what him being with me means.
"Fine... you?"
"Good," I answer quickly bouncing on my feet.
"Did I- did I snore?" He asks his voice shaking a bit.
"Probably, but I really don't care Harry."
He scratches the tip of his nose as he replies the way I didn't expect him. "Do you sleep better with me than with your father?"
"It's the same. I like it, it's like listening to someone's heart rhythm."
"Though that is romantic while others get divorced because after years of not even sleeping in the same bed, they realize nothing is left of their marriage."
"Well you don't need to worry about that. That's not really what I see you in your future."
"Oh yeah I forgot that you can read my hand now..." He rolls his eyes and then closes them, still facing the ceiling. "You do realize that the woman at the fair was right though?"
"About me finding what I was searching for and you as well?"
"Yes," he says and I have to hide the little smile playing around my lips. "She said that you would find what you had been missing which was you're mom and I would as well but in a different subject. She meant you. Someone who can bare my snoring."
"You are making it sounds as if snoring is your biggest worry," I tell him trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach that he what he has been missing in his life is me.
"No," he shrugs even when lying down, "but I still don't like it."
"Well I do." I like everything about you, I add in my mind.
"That's okay, I guess."
"Is it?"
He turns around on the bed to face me and my heart melts as his green eyes burn in mine. My weak spot for this guy is insane and I need to know if it really is okay to like him thins much. Because for me it is more than a good friendship. It is much more of what I share with Liam or Niall.
"I like your hair shorter," he replies completely ignoring my question.
"Thanks for noticing." I sigh knowing that I have to be patience with Harry. But that isn't my strong suit.
"I noticed it yesterday but you didn't want me to speak to you," he addresses our previous conversation and immediately my heart starts to beat ten times faster and sweat forms on my forehead.
"Yet you are. So what does that mean?"
My mouth turns dry as he stands up and takes exactly two steps to end up in front of me. His hands rest on my hips and I am sure that they burn away the skin leaving his hands and fingerprints forever scarred into my flesh. When he speaks, I really stop breathing and forget to blink.
