The music is so loud that I want to cover my ears like a child. Ava insists on moving as deep in to the crowd as possible and along the way we already lose people. Kate, Ava and Louis are the only ones that I still see around me. Not the best crew to hang out with if you aren't a dancer and they clearly are.
While they move to the hard beats of the electric music I simply take in my surroundings. As I am covered in a permanent coat of sweat, I watch the beautiful light show and the two DJ's who are now working the booth. I have no clue who they are, but I can't deny that the tunes are pretty catchy and soon enough I find myself bouncing my head. That is as far as I will go.
Besides screaming in Kate's ear every once in a while when I see a weird dude or girl we don't do much of talking, but my mouth is dry after what feels like hours. As I check my phone I come to the realization it is only been an hour and someone has been missing me that while. Harry has called me three times and I show my phone to Kate.
"Go to the back to call him back. We'll be here by the second light pole okay?" She says and I nod to her. I need a drink anyway.
It takes some strength to push myself to the back of the crowd where the music is still loud. Too loud to call him, so I move to the bars and the portable toilets lined up in tens of rows. Even at the bars it is still busy and there is a long row of people waiting to use the loo. The intensity of being surrounded by so many people doesn't appeal to me. Combine that with a lot of sweat and a murdering heat and suddenly I want nothing more than to go home and shower.
Just as I am about to order a lot of water, my phone goes off again. By instinct I know it is Harry and I press the green phone, not even glancing to the caller-ID.
"What?" I yell in to the phone whilst holding up everyone else in line.
"Where are you?"
At least that is what I think he says. "Back bars."
"Back?" He screams and the sound is tickling my ear.
"Yes, back BAR!" I yell again getting an annoyed look from the bartender who decided to help someone else first.
I hang up after and still have to raise my voice to order my drinks. With two cups full with fresh water I turn around to face a Harry. A Harry that stares to me blankly. One hand holds a cup and the other his phone. It is still alight from our phone call.
"Missed me?" I decide to ask to break the spell he has settled over us from his intense glare.
"Missed everyone," he answers still looking rather unbothered. "Where were you?"
"By the second light pole with Kate and our favorite couple."
"Ah, you left me alone with Elena on purpose again?"
"You are starting to sound like Rosie," I say pushing passed him. I'm not in the mood for this. Technically I am not in the mood for anything really.
"That is low, even for you," he sarcastically remarks.
"Look, I rather go home to be honest. So I am not in the mood for your bitchy comments." He looks surprised as I turn around my hair not even moving with me, but sticking to my back.
"You want to go home all the time. Seriously, this is fun," he states throwing his hands in the air.
"You call being wet from sweat fun?" I yell over my shoulder, stopping for a moment to look at him.
"Yeah, I call being sweaty from making fun, fun."
I roll my eyes at him which only makes him grin. I don't have any effect on this guy and I know he won't leave with me unless he is afraid for my safety. And to be honest, he is right. I was having fun, just got to stick with the good crowd and not Harry.
