Melinda sat on the chair as she watched Percy pace around. He looked stressed, which made her feel guilty. Was she the cause of this?
"Melinda. can you try to remember anything about us?" He asked sounding hurt. Melinda gulped as she opened her mouth but shut it quickly. She's been trying to remember him since he told her there were together. She somehow found it impossible to believe.
"I am sorry. But I've tried. It's all blank." She confessed slumping back into the seat.
Percy sighed as he went to sit on the seat across of her.
"What if I take you to the spot where we meet?" He suddenly asked staring at her with hope. Her lips formed a small line as she stared at him.
"I am unsure if it will work, but there is a high possibility." She admitted. Percy jumped out of his seat as he rushed to help her out of hers.
"Let's go. I want you to remember us." He muttered dragging her through a portal. Melinda let out a small squeal as she suddenly felt like she was falling. Her eyes shut tightly. Falling through the portal oddly seemed so familiar to her.
"This was always your favorite thing to do," Percy said gripping her hand tightly. Melinda couldn't help but stare at their joined hands and smile.
"You make it sound as I was someone fun, everyone else makes it seem as if I am some monster." She swiftly glided to the ground of the portal and landed safely with Percy at her side.
"Tell me, Percy. What was I like?" Melinda asked while looked at him curiously.
Percy chuckled as he let her hand go. He caressed her hair and tucked some strands behind her ear.
"You were, no, you are mysterious, strong and willing to defend what's right. You're serious too, but it was good. It helped put the army in check." He admitted while pulling her through the mouth of the portal.
Melinda silently listened to him speak.
"Why do people fear me then?" She asked, causing Percy stop dead in his track. He knew people feared her, but the reason why. He wasn't sure.
"I honestly don't know Melinda, all I know is that people tend to see their fears in your eyes." He sighed and led her through the halls. People walked by and stared at her with shock.
She, of course, was not wearing her mask.
"why do they stare at me like that?" Melinda asked as she avoided meeting anyone's gaze.
"You always wore a mask, everywhere you went. These people have never seen your face." He muttered while tugging out the galaxy mask.
He placed it on her face and frowned.
"I always hated how you wore it, but since the way people stare seems to bother you. I'll deal with it." He joked slightly.
Melinda touched the mask with her fingertips and sighed.
More memories rushed in.
People always pointed and whispered as she walked through the halls. She, however, could see why. She was terrifying with her uniform and mask. Her simple presence seemed to make others trembled in fear, and with a dull stare at into her eyes made them go.
Insane.
A sharp pain hit her on the side of her head. Melinda groaned as she held her head. She removed the mask and held it in her hands not daring to wear it just yet. It felt as if she would stumble and fall back into a coma with the pain raging in her head.
