Tomoki's POV

I cracked my knuckles, yawning tiredly as my eyes drooped down in exhaustion. I powered down my laptop, glancing over at my alarm clock to check the time. 10:02 PM.... I sighed before getting off of the bed and putting my laptop in it's rightful place. I should probably text Kaoru about where we are going... I grabbed my phone off of my desk before contacting Kaoru

Tomoki - I'm going to head over soon, anything I should know?

Kaoru - Dress warm and don't wear heels :3

Tomoki - Um alright, I don't even own heels.

Kaoru - I wouldn't even know that, then again you aren't one to wear heels.

Tomoki - Mhmm..

Kaoru - Oh yeah! What's your shoe size?

Tomoki - Why do you need my shoe size?

Kaoru - It's a secret, just tell me please.

Tomoki - Fine. My shoe size is 23.5 (US = 7).

Kaoru - Alright, thanks. I'm heading over right now so don't keep me waiting ;)

Tomoki - I will try.

I went over to my closet to pick out warm clothes for me to wear, knowing I might have to layer if needed. I soon picked out my outfit before heading towards the window, making sure I had my phone on me just in case. I opened my window, the cold winter air bursting into my room. I looked down at the ground, noting that I was on the 3rd floor. I looked off to the side to see a pipe attacked to the side of mansion, giving me an idea. I grabbed hold of the pipe before swinging my leg out and jumping onto it like a monkey. I held myself up with my thighs and left hand, reaching over to my window to close it. After a few minutes of trying, I successfully closed it, sliding down the pipe and dropping to the ground that was lightly covered in frost. I ran off towards the direction of town, using the road and signs as my guide line.

(Time Skip)

I slowed my jog down to a walk once I was a few blocks away from the bakery, breathing heavily from the long jog from Point A to Point B. I shivered once a cold breeze slammed into my face, my ears and nose red from the cold, my lips probably blue from the cold. I walked while hugging myself until I saw ginger hair standing outside a closed bakery, rubbing their hands together. I walked towards the Hitachiin Twin, watching where I stepped cause of ice making itself clear on the sidewalk

"Hey Kaoru." I greeted him, my teeth chattering slightly. He snapped his head towards me, smiling kindly at me before studying my form, noticing of how cold I looked

"Tomoki, I told you to dress warm!" Kaoru stated, grabbing my face in his hands. His hands were surprisingly warm and he wasn't wearing any gloves

"I did, I'm just naturally cold-blooded." I defended with a huff and he rolled his eyes, taking off his woolen black scarf and wrapping it around my neck

"Humans are warm-blooded, you aren't a reptile Tomoki."

"I could be, you never know." He lightly laughed, kissing the top of my head causing me to blush which went unnoticed by Kaoru, probably thinking it was from the cold. He grabbed my hand and began walking with me to an unknown location

"Will you tell me now where we are going?"

"Nope." He informed me popping the 'p' teasingly, I rolled my eyes with a sigh, watching as my hot breath turning into a puff of smoke within the cold early winter air. We walked for what seemed to be around ten minutes until Kaoru stopped suddenly causing me to crash into him, not expecting her to stop in movement. He let out a light chuckle while I glared at him from the corner of my eye

"We here or what?"

"Yep." He used his free hand before pointing over to a spot about a block away. I followed his line of sight before my eyes widened. 'You have got to be kidding me...' I thought in my mind

"Ice Skating?!" I asked him and he nodded with a small smile

"I wanted to do something different for you, something that you have never done before-"

"How did you know that I never went ice skating?" I asked him with an arched eyebrow

"Tamaki." I scoffed, averting my gaze away from the public ice rink and looked up at Kaoru

"Of course, my idiot of a brother..."

"I thought you guys made up?" He asked me, referring to what happened a few days prior

"We did. I just like calling him an idiot." I confessed to him with a smirk. We began walking again, heading towards the ice rink that only had a few skaters at the rink, most of them being commoners like Haruhi. Seems they value fun over sleep, quite odd for teenagers nowadays. If I could sleep right here and right now I would, but I know that after this 'friendly outing' back to work it's for me. We reached the rink when he let go of my hand and reaching something out of his duffel bag, pulling out ice skates

"Oh... So that's what you needed my shoe size for..." I muttered only loud enough for him to hear. His ears perked up with my words and nodded, handing them to me before getting out his own pair of skates

"Where did you even get skates at this hour?"

"My mother, duh." I mentally slapped myself in the face, totally regarding the fact that his mother owned a fashion industry

"I should have known..."

"Come on, let's get these on." I nodded and we proceeded to take off our boots before putting on the ice skates, tying them appropriately. Kaoru stood up first, steadying himself before offering his hand towards me. I gladly took it, stumbling forward slightly at the strange feeling of standing on metal blades, making sure to not move my ankle in an awkward angle or else I would be going down and Kaoru would be yelling 'Timber!' as if I was a tree log

"What about our boot-" He carelessly kicked them underneath the bench we were sitting on beforehand, along with the empty duffel bag

"Well, goodbye boots for all of eternity." I deadpanned and Kaoru chuckled, shaking his head

"No one is going to take them-"

"You do forget it's human nature to want what they see, for example expensive fancy looking boots-"

"Okay, okay. But still, no one is going to take them. There is barely anyone here anyway." I groaned throwing my head back in dismay. This is going to be a long night.
