Chapter 51 - Let's Skate Part 1

3rd Person's POV

Kaoru slowly pulled Tomoki across the ice with a small amused grin as he watched the panic in her eyes appear whenever she would feel herself leaning forward, backwards, left, of right too much. Tomoki has never been ice skating or roller blading, or anything that has to deal with balance in that matter, which greatly frightened her every time she made and an attempt to skate without Kaoru pulling her along. Unlike Tomoki, Kaoru had been to many skating rinks and events due to his mother's work when she worked for a short while on skater's costumes, using that opportunity to try and get her boys to get into an activity beside video games, of course, that didn't end up well in the end when Hikaru broke his Ankle

"Kaoru, I swear if you let go-" Tomoki began to threaten him. Kaoru let out a laugh, cutting her off

"I won't let go until you're comfortable with it, are you sure you don't want a chair?"

"I'm sure Kaoru, I would rather not further embarrass myself in public." Tomoki stated with a huff, "So, you're okay to embarrassing yourself in private?" Kaoru asked her smartly and she glared at him

"Smartass."

"Only the best people are." He replied with a smirk before suddenly stopping in place on the ice, causing Tomoki to crash into his chest setting Kaoru off balance for a second

"Why did you stop?" She asked him with an raised eyebrow

"You really should have worn gloves, your hands are ice cold." The ginger stated bringing her hands up to his face, blowing hot air into them sending shivers down Tomoki's spine

"Kinda was in a hurry, no gloves came across my mind."

"Mhmm." He blew more hot air into hands before rubbing them with his to attempt at warming them. Tomoki could feel eyes on them, the other skaters watching them from the corner of their eyes. After a few minutes of silence, Tomoki glanced up at Kaoru to see him staring off into the distance, his eyes trailed on something that she didn't bother to look at. She swallowed the lump forming in her throat nervously before carefully leaning up and kissing his cheek lightly, a small blush creeping on her face. A smile tugged on Kaoru's lips in content at the small gesture by the blonde. He looked back down at Tomoki to see looking away sheepishly, the cold hiding her blush. He leaned down and kissed her between her eyebrows tenderly, showing the affection he felt towards her

"I'm sorry but you two are just adorable." They both jumped in surprise at the slightly deep feminine voice coming from beside them. The looked over to see a blonde with blueish green eyes grinning at them in amusement

"Uhh, thank you?" Kaoru thanked her awkwardly making her chuckle before thrusting her hand towards them

"Names Golden. Golden Sapphire to be more specific." Tomoki narrowed her eyes at the strange girl

"What kind of name is Golden?"

"What kind of name is Tomoki? It's as if someone misspelled the name the send time they wrote it and just went with it." Golden replied with sass, a smirk becoming evident on her face

"Why you- Wait, how do you know my name?" Tomoki asked her and Golden made a noise similar to a moose before hurriedly skating away from the two

"Nice chatting with ya but gotta blast!" Kaoru was about to skate after the teenager only to stop when he realized Tomoki was still with him, depending on him to not let her go. Tomoki flared her nostrils in annoyance, wondering how she knew her name

"Strange."

"What's strange?" Kaoru asked her, slowly skating backward again and pulling her with him

"She looks as if she is a creative person in most fields, like myself with music and art." Kaoru stared at her in confusion

"How can you base that off by looks?"

"Don't know. I guess all creativity shows in one's personality or look I guess." She shrugged before looking over in the direction Kaoru was earlier

"How about after this, we can get some hot chocolate at the small cafe over there?" Kaoru following her line of sight and nodded in agreement

"Sounds good." They skated, well Kaoru skated while pulling Tomoki by her hands, for a little longer until the skating rink was about to close for the night. They skated out of the rink, Tomoki sighing relief when she stomped on solid ground with her right foot. They sat down on the bench they were on half an hour ago. They put their skates away before putting on their snow boots and standing up, Kaoru swinging the bag containing their skates over his shoulder

"Let's get some hot chocolate." The ventured over to the cafe, watching as the other people who were skating at the rink with them were also inside to warm up before heading home. They entered the small cafe, a burst of warm air hitting them warming their exposed skin. Kaoru closed the door behind Tomoki while she ventured further into the cafe. She found them a seat at a booth, sitting down before taking off her jacket while Kaoru sat down across from her, proceeding with taking off his jacket as well. They waited patiently for the waitress to come to their table, Kaoru tapping the table with his fingers as he hummed lightly a little tune. Tomoki rested her chin on her hand, staring out the window as she saw the light snow begin to fall. Her mind wandered unconsciously to Lyon James, knowing full well by the buzzing of her phone in her pocket, that she was leaving more cryptic messages for her to view after her 'friendly outing' with Kaoru. 'Lyon James, for all I care you can have Alphonse,' She looked at Kaoru from the corner of her eyes, staring at the smile playing on his lips, 'I already have someone specially made for me...'

I wrote the first 715 words of this chapter on my phone which is quite surprising because I didn't even realize it until I hopped onto the computer to finish the chapter (I can't see the word or page count on my phone for some odd reason). Did you guys like how I inputted myself in this chapter for a little comedic relief? I randomly just did it at the top of my head because I didn't know how to progress with the cute little moment Kaoru and Tomoki were sharing. Also, easter egg I guess, originally Tomoki's name was Tomoko but, I misspelled it a few times and couldn't change it because it was misspelled for a good three chapters or so, so I just went with it. And I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the first snippet of Lyon James and that the chapter actually gave someone goosebumps so I guess that's good? XD.
