I rang the door bell. No one replied so I tried to call out. "Halmeoni! It's me Sora! Are you in there?" I said and knocked repeatedly until I heard someone's footsteps. The door whipped open and my eyes met with a tall man's.

"Sora!" He smiled brightly and pulled me into a hug. I groaned and pushed him away but his smile didn't falter.

"Hoseok" I deadpanned because I found the guy very annoying although he was like a brother to me.

"Woah hands off" Namjoon joined as he put his arm over my shoulder. I rolled my eyes before pushing his arm off and Hoseok to the side to go into my grandmother's home. "Yo, I'm Namjoon. Sora's boyfriend" I heard him introducing himself and felt my heart flutter at the word boyfriend. Hoseok's happiness was literally radiating off of him as he introduced himself as well.

Hoseok, if you haven't already noticed, is a cheerful guy. He is tall and thin, and likes to move around a lot. Though I have seen his sad side and it is extremely scary to deal with a sad Hoseok. The young man is my cousin from my mother's side so he and his older sister live here because his parents had died in a car accident long ago.

The last time I had seen Hoseok was a year ago. He had been in his first year of University for the past year and was living in a dorm shared with his friends. I was glad that he had moved out so I could visit my grandmother in peace but seeing him here again made me disappointed. However, it was also good in a way because he could protect halmeoni from walkers and keep her alive.

"Where is she?" I asked breaking off his introduction and he turned around to face me.

"Who noona? She's upstairs" Hoseok shrugged and I face-palmed.

"No halmeoni, you idiot" I stated as if it wasn't obvious enough.

"Woah, I'm older than you, show some respect to your oppa" He joked making me cringe.

"We've had this conversation before. I will not call you oppa"

"But-"

"Just tell me where she is" I said even though I could just check around the house to look for her.

"In her room" He said in defeat before covering his face with a smile. Namjoon stood there awkwardly, observing our cousin-rant. Hoseok turned back to his guest. "I see you got rid of that annoying zombie outside" He said.

I stopped listening and ran up the stairs (leaving the men to get to know each other) to look for the person I had been waiting to see ever since the pandemic. I knocked on her door before entering the room to see her standing in her balcony with a cup of tea on the table next to her.

"Halmeoni!" I said happily and went to hug her. She turned around with one of her caring smiles and caught me in her arms.

"Oh my precious granddaughter" She said as she stroked my hair. "What took you so long to get here? I was getting so worried" She said as I pulled away and smiled at her.

"Well I'm here now aren't I?" I asked and she kissed my forehead. She was like a mother to me. I had never gotten any paternal love my entire life and she was the only person who had actually showed some care for me. Even though, she was sick most of the time and I rarely got to meet her. However, she loved all of her grandchildren equally so I didn't feel that special whenever she'd do the same to Hoseok or Bora unnie. Bora, is Hoeok's older sister and yes the similarity in our names isn't a coincidence. For some reason, our mothers (who were sisters) decided they wanted to name their daughters with rhyming names. That was before my aunt died and my mother became abusive.

I don't like Bora a lot. She's one of those school sluts who likes to sleep with every other guy. Basically the female version of Jungkook. But I have to deal with her because in the end she's still my cousin.

"When did Hoseok and Bora unnie get here?" I asked my grandmother as we sat on the balcony chairs, facing each other.

"A day after..." She trailed off referring to the outbreak. "I was afraid to be alone but they saved me" She finished and I silently thanked both of my cousins.

"I'm sorry I couldn't make it Halmeoni" I mumbled but she shrugged it off.

"It must have been hard to get here, dear. Did you get hurt? Are you tired?" She asked worrying about me. I shook my head.

"I'm just happy to see you" I replied.

"Well you should rest. I'll get Bora to bring you some dinner I made earlier. Are you here alone?" She asked and I gulped, knowing it was time to introduce Namjoon. As if on time, Namjoon entered the room.

I shook my head and stood up walking over to Namjoon. "Um, this is Kim Namjoon. My class president and ... uh my b-boyfriend" I stuttered. Saying it out loud was harder than I thought. A bright smile lit up her face as she walked over to hug him who was bowing down in respect.

"Oh don't do that" she made him stand up straight and observed him carefully. "He's perfect for you" She looked at me with a hand on her chin. I blushed. "Take care of my granddaughter" She said and Namjoon nodded his head with a dimply smile, happy that she liked him.

"It's nice to finally meet you" Namjoon said. "Sora had been worrying about you ever since the apocalypse"

She smiled and patted my head. "Now, both of you should get some rest in the guest room. Join us for dinner when you're ready" She said and I took Namjoon's hand before leading him out of the room, happy that everyone was completely fine.

All those zombie movies and shows were fake after all. Not everyone loses their minds after a pandemic; things can still be handled in a calm way.
