Revelations

Brooklyn's POV 

I took in a deep breath as I sat on the big rock. I ran for hours, and I ended up in a familiar place. The rock Mallory and I hid behind when we overheard the mustangs conversation. I leaned up against the rock and tried to slow my breathing as I felt the tears slowly start dripping out of my eyes. 

I don't know how long I've been here, it's a good thing 'Alex and I were staying at Kelley's house'. Mrs. Morgan would be freaking out, luckily somehow we've hid the bruises pretty well, cuts were easy to make an excuse on. 

I can't believe I did that. After all the rounds of fighting. I was never even afraid I was gonna lose the fight, but afraid I would lose control. I'm a good fighter, but a bad person. I don't know boundaries, I can't stop myself sometimes, I just kept punching her over and over again. 

I unwrapped my hands and saw the bruises forming. I knew that the wraps wouldn't hold up, and my right foot, it's probably gonna be sore too. I looked up at the sky, and the stars calmed me, but my eyes quickly jolted down as I heard a stick crack. 

"Hey, hey, hey, it's okay." I looked up to see Kailen slowly walking towards me. I got up and ran into her arms and tears came rushing from my eyes. I just felt myself draining as the energy left my body as she held me up. She wrapped her arms around me and rubbed her hand up and down my back.

She sat us down and I sat on her lap with my face in her neck. "Shhhh, it's okay, it's okay." She rocked me back and forth a little bit and kissed my forehead. "We need to get you to Alex, she has to be worried sick, okay?" I shook my head no and I knew that confused her. 

"I don't wanna leave, I'm not ready, Kailen you need to leave, you need to go now, they'll destroy you if they find out. Please, I don't want to be the reason you get hurt too." 

"Brooklyn that wasn't your fault! Your dad was an awful person, you're an amazing person, always know that." She squeezed me and got up. She raised my chin and grabbed both of my hands. "You have to go home." I shook my head at her. "I don't have a home." 

She just shook her head and took a step back. "You have a home, you have people that love you, Alex loves you, that team loves you-"

"If they loved me, why did I fight, why did they agree, they didn't know I was a good fighter, they didn't-"

"Stop, they do, Brooklyn you knocked Camila out with one kick, Brooklyn you're one of the strongest humans I have ever met, Alex loves you, Steph loves you, I love you-"

"I love you too." She blushed at my comment and leaned down. I pushed forward and connected our lips. I love Kailen, I was wrong, it wasn't the Aussie, it was the Canadian. She pulled away and pulled me close to her. "Brooklyn I don't-"

"I don't regret it, Kailen I do, I actually love you, I haven't told anyone, but you, I trust you." She knew how important those words were, that I trusted her. I'm not good at trusting anyone really, not anymore. 

"Come here, I'll take you home, but you have to explain." I let out a light laugh and nodded my head as she picked me up and I slowly drifted asleep.

"Wait wait wait, so let me get this straight, Brooklyn is friends with you, Dani Weatherholt, and Ashley Hatch?!" 

I opened my eyes and stretched out my arms. I looked up and saw that I was in Alex's lap. She looked down a little angry, but as much as she wants to she can't get angry at me. 

"You gave me a heart attack, once you're okay, I'm gonna murder you!"

"I guess I'll never be okay." 

She laughed and looked up at the ceiling and shook her head. "You're so..."

"Difficult, different, but bad not the right word, look I'm gonna go, I don't want anyone else from your team to know I was here." Kailen got up off the couch, so I quickly gollowed her. 

"You're leaving?" 

She leaned down a bit and smiled. "Yea, I'll text you and we can meet up okay, but I know it's dangerous for both of us to be together right now." I nodded my head and she kissed my cheek before she left. 

"I know you're friends, is the friend you wanna be more than friends with?" I looked over at Alex leaning on the door way and Kelley walked up behind her. "You told me it was Steph." Alex looked at me shocked. "You told Kelley and not me?!" 

I shrugged my shoulders at her. "It slipped." 

"It slipped, yea no what the fuck Brooklyn?! You just went ballistic. I mean it was Marta so... That shouldn't matter who it is, you need to tell me, what the hell is wrong, please tell, you won't tell me shit! Why won't you just open the fuck up, I'm trying here, but you know what I never asked for a little sister to begin with, and all this time I thought I was the one screwing things up! No, it's you, the little asshole who can't stop herself from fighting every bitch out there, not me!"

Kelley's POV 

Brooklyn and I were both taken back from the words that just came out of Alex's mouth. She's not like this, this isn't Alex. She's like a totally different person, all because Brooklyn didn't tell her that she liked Steph, but she told me. 

Brooklyn's lip started to quiver and she turned around and ran back out the door she just entered a few minutes ago. Alex collapsed onto the couch with her hands in her face. She just sighed and shook her head.

"What's wrong with me?" 

"You're stressed, it makes us terrible people." I sat down next to her and put a hand on her shoulder, but she fell onto my lap and started sobbing. 

"Shhh, Lex, it's okay, hey you're not the bad guy here, yea what you just said was pretty harsh, but it's just, we all build up anger, I think that's what happens to Brooklyn, you need to learn to understand that, and how to control it."

"You're right." 

"I know I am, come on."

"Where are we going?" She looked at me confused and I let out a light laugh.

"To go find your sister, before someone else does preferably." She smiled and nodded. 

"I really didn't mean to say those things, she's gonna hate me." 

"You both need to learn how to understand each other, you'll be good."
