Alex's POV

"Bye Kailen." Brooklyn was shutting the front door as I walked downstairs and saw Tobin walk out of the bathroom.

"Oh yea by the way Alex Tobin's here."

"Really I didn't know." I told her sarcastically and she just laugh and jogged up the stairs. Her face was much better now it's been three weeks, but her wrist is still hurt. At least Kailen has been there a lot to cheer her up.

Tobin on the other hand, not so well, she's still pretty badly injured. She's happy though, I mean I am her girlfriend, just kidding.

"Hey, how are you feeling?"

"Better now, I'm with you."

"Aww thanks Tobs." I blushed at her comment and went and hugged her. I feel bad about her injuries. It seems like we have spent more quality time together.

We sat on the couch for a while and watched a few movies, it's Saturday we need a break. Hours later I got up and saw Brooklyn jogging down the stairs all dressed up.

"Where are you going?"

"Practice."

"Dressed like that? And umm I thought you weren't aloud to play?"

"Bye Alex." She sprinted out the door and before I could even get to it she was off our street. I slammed the door shut and looked at Tobin. "We have to go after her don't we?" I rocked back and forth and nodded.

"Alright." Tobin hobbled up and grabbed her crutches. "That kid is a mess."

"Yep, a mess we have to go chase." I got into my jeep and drove down our street. She wouldn't go left, so I went right. I kept driving, but couldn't seem to find her. The park! Duh!

"She's probably at the park!" Tobin said thinking the same as me, she was slightly overdressed for the park.

"Is that her?" Tobin pointed somewhat far away at a person walking along the side walk. I saw another group nearby. They started to walk towards the one person across the street when a truck came speeding down the road.

I saw the person spring off and tackle three people, but one was hit by the giant truck and went flying through the air. There was no way they were alive. I saw all the people get up and run towards the girl. It wasn't until I got closer that I noticed who they were.

I stopped and jumped out, but froze in midstep as I saw the goalkeeper laying in the dark red puddle. The little girl beside her sobbing as a few other holding each other. Ashley, Dani, Mallory, Rose Lavelle, Lynn Williams, Jessie Fleming, and Crystal Dunn.

All of them shook from what just happened. I couldn't even move. Tobin was the only one able to as she called 911, but I already knew it was too late, she was gone. The red got bigger and bigger as it took over the roadway.

Everything seemed to be the same. The small girl sitting in a ball a few feet away as other held each other and told their accounts on what happened. It all just happened so fast.

The truck left, we don't even know who did it. Who killed the girl under the tarp. Everything just seemed like a bad dream or a blur. It wasn't real, I just kept thinking it over and over again, but as I reopened my eyes the flashing lights still lit up the night sky and the tear stained cheeks were moving as they talked to the officials.

Except for one who just stayed in a ball on the ground. She just sat there with the cast under her chin and her knees tucked close as she looked at the puddle of blood. As I kept looking the more depressing part is that the ground wasn't the only thing with blood as splatters of it seemed to reach the young girl.

"Lex, you need to go talk to her. They're gonna need to talk to her." Tobin told me as I got up from the spot I first froze in. I walked over to the almost statue like kid and sat down next to her. "I-I don't know what to even say right now, but you have to get up okay, we need to get you cleaned up." I looked at her arm and saw the scrapes oozing blood.

"You're bleeding Brooklyn, come on." I stood up and reached my hand down and for the first time she moved. Her head turned towards me and she just relowered it. I saw a few more tears escape her eyes before she reached up and connected our hands.

She could barely walk. She just seemed to lean against me and shuffle her feet. I walked her over to an ambulance and they sat her on the end. The doors were opened up, so we sat partly inside of it. "Here, put this around her." A paramedic handed me a blanket, so I wrapped it around us as I pulled her in and she just sobbed into my shoulder.

"Let's get your cuts bandaged up okay?" She looked at me with watery eyes, but nodded her head and sat up on the stretcher. A really sweet paramedic lady cleaned her arms and wrapped them up, while I wiped off the splattered blood.

She didn't talk, she just sat there like a ghost. She seemed as quiet as a shy kid on the first day of school in a new country. She was silent, but not as quiet as the moment it happened. The onlay noise heard was tires spinning away in the distance.

She sat like a doll with her legs hanging limply. She seemed like she lost her voice, because she didn't even make an attempt to talk. No noise came from her, but neither did anything else really. Her facial expressions was complete sadness.

She had the look of a little kid who lost their dog. She lost a lot more than a dog. She just lost her best friend. Dani and Ashley motioned me towards them, so I got up and walked out of the ambulance.

"Has she talked?"

"No." I shook my head and looked back at the limp doll on the bed.

"Is she breathing..., watch her, just Alex, trust me you're the only one that will be able to get here to talk. We won't." Dani said the words before leading Ashley away.

It just doesn't seem real. I walked a few feet away from the scene and look down the hill.
