Nephele
After Zephyr and I talked and I pawned him off on Solana, I grabbed Jasper and basically pushed him all of the way out of the castle, "I heard you had a long night."
"It was...amazing." Jasper exhales and smiles. "I love her, Nephele. I think I'm finally in love."
"No, you're not. You just had a good time. Don't you dare say those words to Solana- she falls in love and get hurts easy. If you hurt her, I'll have to kill you." I rub at my forehead in frustration. I was tired and partly cranky from it- it was his and Solana's fault anyway.
"I would never hurt the Beautiful Princess. Oh sweet, sweet Solana. She's like a song I've never heard before. I am utterly infatuated with her. Her body, her soft, gentle, passionate movements, her--"
"Please stop." I groan and cut in. "You understand your brother is going to kill you and me both. We said you were escorting me home and you never came back."
"He will get over it when he learns I am in love."
"Jasper, stop saying you're in love."
"Well I am." He crosses his arms. "I have to see her again."
"You will be walking with her at the wedding, hopefully your love doesn't fade before then."
"Never." He looks at me like I offended him. "She's magnificent."
"And she sleeps around, you won't be the only one."
"What?" His face and happiness drops.
"Exactly, Jasper." I stop and turn to him. "You'll get hurt further if you keep up this hope for her, you're not in love- you don't know Solana."
"She...last night she told me she loved me. I made love to her last night. We...we are together."
"No, you're not. Solana loves everybody."
"Oh." His body tenses and he keeps walking.
"Hey," I gently place a hand to comfort him on his back, "I'm sorry, I just don't want you to keep your hopes up with her. I'm just a little aggravated today because I didn't sleep well last night having one of the rooms next to you two."
"It's fine." His voice sounds different now. Colder.
"Jasper, please." I frown as I try to keep up with his pace.
"What? Nephele." He snaps. "I'm not in the mood to talk now and make a further fool of myself."
"If it helps she's probably bragging about how she's in love with you right now too. All Solana seeks is love."
"Like she does about everyone? Like how she'll probably do with whatever man she takes tonight. Whatever man makes love to her." He grumbles.
"I've never made love." I admit to him. "I don't know if that helps, but..." I trail and play with my fingers.
"You're engaged to my brother." He looks at me annoyed.
"Yes, and?"
He blinks. "And you love my brother..."
"It's too soon for that."
"I'm confused." Jasper shakes his head. "Too soon?"
"We don't know each other it's been maybe a month..."
Jasper sighs. "I didn't feel like I was having sex with Solana. I was so overwhelmed with love."
"You've never even had sex before, how would you know the difference?" I ask more out of curiosity than anything else.
