Raidyn

I rush to the infirmary immediately after being alerted that something has happened to Flora. The guard wouldn't give any detail other than her repeated requests for me, but perhaps he didn't even know himself- actually, scratch that. I manipulated him to make sure he was telling e the truth, I didn't like to be surprised. Especially with Flora and the infirmary....I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. Oh gods, please let her be fine and nothing too serious....oh and please let it not be a bastard child.

When I get there Flora is in a bed, her hand all bandaged up.

"You're here." She smiles at me all groggily.

"Yes, I am...and you're high." I smile back at her lazy grin. It's nice to see Flora so laid back for a change. "What happened to your hand?" I ask softly as I lay in the bed and curl up next to her on the opposite side of her injury.

"Luscinia cut it off. I told her to leave or else I would tell Arsen that her unborn baby is Bren's. I-It's true...I overheard her talking to her sister-in-law." Flora gulps and widens her eyes as she awaits my reaction.

I sigh. I have two choices- to blow up on her or not to. "I'm just glad you're okay." I breathe in her scent and continue to lay there for another minute before getting up. I knew what I was getting into with Flora. I know how chambermaids talk and blackmail, the games they always love to play when they're not cleaning or cooking just to entertain themselves. "I'm going to talk to Lusincia. I'll handle this." I nod and head for the curtain.

"Raidyn wait!" Flora croaks and catching me before I take more than three steps away. "Luscinia is dead, Bren killed her." She whispers carefully of who around us might hear.

"Who knows about this?" My head snaps to look in her eyes.

She shrugs and waves her bandaged hand. "I passed out shortly after. Go find King Bren."

I don't say goodbye before leaving. I had to find Bren and fast before Arsen does, before he kills him if he knows- and he could easily know everything by now if Astrid decided to tell him, or even Flora could've in the state she's in. I scour the halls and can't find him anywhere in the castle, not even Raven has seen him.

It finally dawned on me just where he would hide out at and I find him right where I expected- the stables.

"What the hell did you do? Do you enjoy making a mess of things?" I already knew the answer to that- yes.

"Not as much as she did. She was planning on keeping the child to term and pretend for the rest of its life that Arsen was its father." Bren stares blankly at me.

"I always told you that she was crazy and spoiled- you never bothered to listen to me...I never thought you would kill her though, I always thought it would be me." I lightly chuckle.

"She was a good lay. Luscinia was out of her mind, she was going to kill that chambermaid and I, it was self defense." Bren shrugs.

"If she would've killed my head chambermaid, I would've killed her anyways so thanks for doing me a favor. Do you think Arsen knows? Do you think he's going to kill you?"

"I'm not worried about that prick. He might've seen her body in the kitchen, who knows."

"In the kitchen?" I tilt my head.

"Yeah, that's where I stabbed her. I left her body for someone else to find."

"Ouch....she was such a terrible person though...I guess she got what she deserved. Now she won't be causing trouble for any of us anymore and I know Raven will be so relieved." I nudge him.
