Nephele
A month and a week from my birthday and a day past Rhett's, it was late in the day and time for yet another family dinner. It had been over a month since Jett's mom passed away, Sareena was a wonderful woman, but I wish I would've been able to keep my promise to her, she never got to see Jett marry- it broke my heart inside and I knew that Jett's heart was far more broken by the loss of his mother, something I hated going through all over again. Slowly but surely, Jett was finally moving his things over, although he is reluctant to leave since Jacalyn is still so young and as a bastard and now orphan, she would have it rough- I've offered my help plenty of times, but they never take it. As exhausting as the grief was, it was even more tiring keeping up with my meetings and planning the wedding alone- Jett was out of it for two weeks, he is back to himself now, but for awhile I was really worried about him...there are still times now and little moments he'll mention to me in private, but for the most part he is so strong and continues to be a great fiancé to me and a spectacular father to Van.
"You look handsome." I give Jett a small smile as we head into the dining room, Van was spending the day with Papa, so he would come down when my father did.
"Thank you." He gives my hand a reassuring squeeze.
We take our seats; Solana, Rhett, and Nodin are already seated at the table in conversation arguing.
"I did too sleep with her! Just ask her, herself!" Rhett yells at Solana getting himself all worked up.
"You didn't. You're a liar!" Solana slams her palms on the table.
"I agree with Solana, for once." Nodin chuckles.
"Shut up, both of you! I really did!" Rhett barks.
"Just because you're finally eighteen doesn't mean you could get her." Solana argues.
"Yes, it does. I'll escort you to the infirmary and you can ask her yourself!" He growls.
"No." Solana crosses her arms.
"How didn't you hear it last night? Amelia was screaming out my name."
"Because nothing happened!" Solana shouts. "You're making it up."
"It was definitely in your dreams." Nodin snickers.
Solana- snorts. "Good one."
"I got with her and it was amazing, you both are just being jerks." Rhett scoffs.
"Yes, we are." Solana smiles.
"Be nice you two." I give both Solana and Nodin pointed glares.
"Ohhh, speaking of- after the wedding, Neph, I'm going to travel this realm and the next with Maisy." Nodin casually says to me.
"What are you doing with my little sister in law?" Zephyr enters with Mayrah and the baby.
"Yeah, Maisy never mentioned anything to me." Mayrah frowns.
"Maisy and I are in love and we want to travel the world together. I'll be back in four months...maybe." Nodin shrugs.
"Kaj is okay with this?" Zephyr raises his eyebrows.
"Kaj doesn't know just as he doesn't know Maisy's true nomadic lifestyle." Mayrah says before Nodin can answer. "My father would never be okay with either, but my mother knows the truth- I think my father believes Maisy is a nun."
Zephyr chuckles and grabs Rosalind from Mayrah and sits down with her in her arms. "Have fun," he says to Nodin.
"Thank you for at least saying for my wedding." I smile weakly, "Dad knows and agrees woth this?"
