Rude Awakening?

A Couple Of Days Later in Jay's POV

Chris❤: I just feel like I'm a bump in the road for you... I love you and I'll always be there, but I think Dave would be the best fit for you babe

So, now all of a sudden, he's routing for Dave? Where is all of this coming from?

Me: Chris are you for real?

I sent the text message and I took a deep breath. I saw the bubble pop up with three dots, indicating that he's texting me back.

Chris❤: yeah and it took me a while to figure everything out. You need someone there that you can count on. I'm still trying to figure my life out.

Me: wow Chris... I never thought I'd hear you back off like this. You just gave up on me huh?

I sent it with an unreadable expression on my face. This was so peculiar.

Chris❤: I didn't give up on you, I'm just gonna let you try out your second choice.

But, what if I wanna try out my first choice? Maybe this is a sign saying that I need to choose Dave. I honestly never thought that these words would fly out of Chris' mouth.

Me: this is really weird coming from you

Chris❤: Mama told me that if I wasn't ready to step up the right way, then I should let you be with someone else.

Me: Chris since when have you ever listened to Mama Joyce? 🙄c'mon now

I shook my head as he prepared to text back.

Chris❤: I'm listening to her now. Why are you making this so difficult? Just let it happen. Maybe something good will come out of all this. You need to be with him Jay. It's for the best.

As I was about to text back, he sent another text...

Chris❤: I'm about to K.O. We gotta long day tomorrow. Get some rest love and I'll talk to you later. Remember that I'll always love you baby❤

After I read the text, I shook my head, and locked my phone. While laying back on my bed, I threw my phone to the side, and I rested my face in my palms.

I guess this is really what he wants. I was gonna try and talk to him about us being together before he completely changed the subject basically forcing me to choose Dave. I mean, like I said before, I definitely don't have a problem choosing Dave. I was gonna be in a win/win situation regardless.

I just never thought that Chris would've given up this quickly...

My phone vibrated as I picked it up to look at the screen.

David💙: how you feelin?

Me: I'm fine, I'm just laying down

I said as I sent the text. A couple of seconds left, another message came through.

David💙: can I come through? If that's cool wit you

Me: yeah that's fine, but imma be sleeping. You're not about to keep me up cause I'm tired lol

I said while chuckling aloud. I am exhausted. Dave is gonna be in here talking to himself.

Well I mean, if Chris wants me to move on and just work things out with Dave, then I guess I might as well tell him about the life inside me too.

David💙: that's perfect cause I'll just hold you in my arms till you fall asleep... I'm omw

A small smile spread across my face and I laid down flat on my back.

How am I gonna make the words "I'm pregnant" come out of my mouth? It's time to start brainstorming.

Almost an Hour Later

"Why you acting weird?" Dave asked as I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"Acting weird? How sway?" I asked while crossing my arms.

"You're shaking like you got chills and you won't stop staring at me."

I get chills when I'm nervous.

"Dang I was created with eyeballs and now I can't even look at people?" I said to him with an attitude as he chuckled.

"Stop being literal... I was just playing." He said as I rubbed the top of his hair trying to mess up his waves.

"Yo weak pull out game wasn't playing." I said while coughing and laughing simultaneously.

He furrowed his eyebrows at the remark I made and he started chuckling.

"You just had to dig deep huh? You just had too. But, I'll have you know that my pullout game is super strong." Dave said as I laughed at him belligerently.

"That's what I thought until I found myself watching my own ultrasound." I said laughing even harder as he got quiet. Why am I laughing so hard?

"Wait.. Wait.. wait... you watched your what?" He asked as he searched for my eyes to meet his.

"Huh?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows playfully.

"You had an ultrasound!? You're pregnant!?" He asked as the biggest smile spread across his face. He jumped up off of the bed waiting for my answer.

"Yep..." I said raising up my stomach to show the small baby bump I had.

He crawled onto the bed slowly and he couldn't stop smiling. He placed his big hand on my stomach and he looked up at me.

"Yo... this is amazing. I'm gonna be a father?" He asked as I shook my head yes.

Now, it's time for me to break the news to Chris. I mean, he should be supportive. This is where he wants me to be. Even though a huge chunk of me wants this, I still have feelings for Chris. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to bury that hatchet and focus on what's best for me and the baby.

Anybody's POV

A smirk crept on her face as she got off of the floor and she gently placed Chris' phone back on the charger.

Heavy snores came from his mouth as he continued to sleep peacefully. He didn't move an inch.

"That'll show y'all not to mess with me." Zoey said quietly with an evil smirk on her face as she tip toed out of his room.

"They won't be getting together any time soon. Great job Zo... now we just sit back and observe." She said softly to herself as she walked through the living room and out of the front door quietly leaving no trace of her being there behind.

Nobody knows the damage she's done. But, some people are gonna be in for a rude awakening by tomorrow.
