Chapter Twenty-Four - Proposal

Your POV
It's been ten days now.. I wonder if the strawberry is actually right.. about Hanabusa and I breaking up, I sure hope not.. things were finally going right! My life finally coming back together! I truly hope that he's just trying to mess with me.. I'm sure he is!
I woke up and got ready, I put my hair in a ponytail not bothering to brush it and rushed towards the door, I opened it and saw Hanabusa, "oh um.. hey, what brings you here?.." he looked at me with a stern face, "we need to talk.." oh no, the sentence every girl fears when in a relation ship, "sure, come on in.." I stepped away from the door as he walked in, "what is it you need to talk about?.." I asked him despite knowing the answer, "well... you see.." he sat down on my bed, "look.. I already know what you're gonna say... you want to break up, don't you?.." I said, not being able to bear the awkward silence and long wait, "what? No! Absolutely not! I love you, (Y/N), and I always have and always will, no matter what! I don't care if you don't like me anymore or even treat me badly, I will still love you!" I felt a lump in my throat, "Aido..." he stood up and walked towards me, he kissed my lips gently then went down on one knee, he took out a black box(cliche much?) and said, "(Y/N)... I've known you for a while, I've been by your side for a really long time.. and as I said before, I love you and always have.. (Y/N), we've been through a lot and it's been really tough, especially since you dated Zero at first and then Kaname's confession and all that but.. that's all history and like we learned in history class "history is history, it should stay like that, focus on the future instead" and it made me think, what do I want to do in the future? My answer to that question is.. you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I want to start a family with you! So... (Y/N) (L/N)... will you marry me?" He opened the box revealing a silver ring with runes on it, Norse runes it seems, "Hanabusa.. I really don't know what to say.." he got up, "you don't have to! You can think about it! And it's okay if you say no, I completely understand! As long as I get to be with you, (Y/N)" my eyes tear up once again, "screw it! Yes! I'll marry you!" He placed the ring on my finger and kissed me, then he hugged me and kissed me again, "I'm so happy! I was so worried that you'd say no!" I chuckle, "why would I? I love you Hanabusa! You accept me for who I am and you're so kind, you're so amazing! You're the perfect guy! How could I possibly say no?" He smiles brightly, "thank you, you've made me the happiest vampire alive! Happier than Takuma when he gets a new book!" I laugh, "I love you" He hugs me and then takes my hand, "I love you too" together we walked outside and down the stairs towards the others, "heya guys!" I say smiling brightly letting go of Hanabusa's hand to raise my left hand showing them the ring, "what do you think?" Ruka gasped, "is that a wedding ring?!" I nodded, "to who?" Akatsuki asked, I frown, "I thought it was obvious!" Takuma chuckles, "congratulations (Y/N)! And you too Hanabusa! To be honest though.. I thought she'd go for Kaname.. you know, more power and blah blah" I sigh, "don't even remind me of that.. being a BlueBlood is hard enough.. it's like studying for a test! At least the tests in the night class, they're so hard!!" Hanabusa sighs, "I also thought she wasn't gonna say yes.. but thankfu- hey! Why would you think she'd go for Kana-" Takuma cut him off, "I already said it, for power" Hanabusa shakes his head, "She isn't the type to do that, if something.. she'd do anything to be less powerful, right?" I nod, "yup! But I can't help not marrying the one I love!" Ruka grinned, "what about Zero? You were gonna marry him" I sigh, "which was a huge mistake" Kaname raises an eyebrow, "and why's that?" I sigh again, "because I probably wouldn't have been happy with him and our relationship really wasn't working out.." Hanabusa nods, "plus! It's Zero's fault for her kidnappings! I'm going to make sure nothing happens to her!" He smiles confidently and I smile gently, "thank you" I may have said that out loud but... on the inside I was pissed, that's strike one! He thinks I can't defend myself? Sure I've been kidna- no, (Y/N)! Stop thinking like that! He's trying to be nice and brave! "I really appreciate it" Kaname chuckled as if he'd read my thoughts, "you're quite the interesting girl, (Y/N), and with every passing day you're becoming more like yourself again" I raise an eyebrow, "oh yeah? What's that supposed to mean?" He grins slightly, "exactly what you think, you've become less soft and you're becoming more badass with each passing day" I sigh, "I suppose you're right.. I was quite the softie.. but I had a reason! I had been through a lot! So you can't expect me to not grow soft" he shrugs then Shiki speaks up, "I agree with Kaname, you're more like how you used to.. the badass vampire hunter who showed no mercy to those who even dared to look upon her, you're back to being the good old (Y/N)" I chuckle, "I'm sure I wasn't that bad... but thank you" I smile gently. We all start walking towards the classroom, Hanabusa and I holding hands, "so... does that mean I'll get to call you my wife?" I chuckle, "yes, will I get to call you my husband~" he chuckles as well, "indeed~" we laugh and then walk inside.
Little did I know.. that may have been the worst mistake I've ever made...
