Chapter Thirty Seven - Back Baby

Your POV
Two months have passed since my training with Toga started. It only felt like two weeks though.

"Time to go now"
Toga said as he threw my backpack at me.

"So soon?"
I asked with a raised eyebrow.

He nodded,
"Yeah, it's been two months already and I finally got you into a good shape. So far no attacks so I think it's safe to return"

I shrug,
"If you say so"
I take one last look in the mirror, my tummy fat had been replaced by a six pack.
"Damn (Y/N).. I bet the boys will be drooling over me!"
I said with a wide grin on my face as I followed Toga outside.

"Oh yeah,"
He said,
"We're walking"

My eyes widen,
"Walking?! That's gonna take forever!"

He laughs,
"And? Look at it as the last part of your training!"

I take a deep breath,
"Fine! But if I die it's gonna be your fault!"
I start walking and groan as I look at how far away we are.

"It's so faaar"
I whined,
"Stop whining, (Y/N)!"
Toga said in an annoyed tone,
"You whine more than a six year old kid!"

I straighten my spine in pride,
"Oh yeah? Well it serves you right!"

He sighs,
"Should've expected that..."

We continue to walk in silence, occasionally stopping to eat and rest.

"How long until we arrive?"
I said after what felt like hours,
"I'd say about three weeks"
I gasp at his response,
"THREE WEEKS?!!"
My voice echoes through the hills.

He grinned,
"I'm just kidding! We're only a few hours away from the Academy"

I sigh in relief. My relieved expression then turns into a glare.
"If you pull a prank like that again I will not hesitate to knock you down!"

He smiles gently,
"Good to have you back, (L/N)"

I punch his shoulder in a playful manner,
"Oh shut up, I never left"

He shoots me a 'you sure about that?' Look,
"Of course! I just... ugh! Whatever!"

A few hours later we arrive by the front gates of the academy,
"Oh boy... we're here.."

Toga raises an eyebrow,
"You seem disappointed?"

I nod,
"More like anxious.. I haven't seen the guys in two months and I left without telling them.. they're gonna be furious!"

Toga shrugs,
"Sucks to be you"
I nod,
"Indeed"

He laughs,
"Cheer up, kiddo"

This time I raise an eyebrow.
"I'm sure the guys will understand, In fact, I'm sure they'll greet you happily"

I shrug,
"I guess.."
I said as I looked down at my feet.
"I just.. what if they don't?"

He sighs,
"(Y/N), stop it"
I look up at him.
"I'm sure they've missed you, stop worrying and go inside"

I nod,
"You're right Toga! Thank you!"
He nods and motions for me to enter.
"Go."

I take a deep breath before walking through the gates. I walk towards the Night Dorms' gate.
"Here we go.."
I walk to the front door and open the doors.
"Hello?.."

I walk up the stairs and to my old dorm room. I place my bag on my old bed,
"I wonder if it's okay that I get to stay here again?.."

I look at myself in the mirror,
"I've changed.."
I smile proudly,
"For the better!"

I walk out of the dorms and head to the headmaster's office. When I arrive I knock gently three times then I open the door. When I opened the door I heard my name yelled,

"(Y/N)!!!!"

It was the guys!
"Hi?..."
I smiled awkwardly

"We missed you!"
Hanabusa cried out and the others nodded in response.

I chuckled nervously,
"Yeah.. I uh.."

Takuma took a step forward,
"We thought you were kidnapped again!"

I run the back of my neck,
"Oh uh... really?.. haha.."

Takuma nodded,
"But thankfully headmaster cleared it all up"

I look at the headmaster then Takuma,
"Oh? And what did he say exactly?..."

Takuma smiles gently,
"He told us that you were offered a scholarship for a 2 month exchange program"

I gave the Headmaster a 'really?' look. He just shrugged in response.
"Yeah! I uh.. I've been exceeding the school's expectations in grades and I got an offer I couldn't refuse haha..."

Kaname smiles gently,
"That's great, (Y/N), but why don't you tell us the real reason you left?"

I flinch. He saw right through it..
"What are you talking about?"

Kaname leans in on the desk, his hands behind him on the desk providing support,
"I know for a fact you didn't get a scholarship"

I pretend to be shocked,
"What? Why would you think that?"
The other guys stare at him,
"Yeah.. why?" Hanabusa asked.

"First of all because she wouldn't leave without telling us for such a reason, she'd explain it to us calmly and inform us.
Second, she may be smart but.. she's here because she's a vampire, she would never leave this school for such reasons as grades or expectations.
Third, Toga disappeared at the same time as she did and reappeared at the same time. Suspicious, is it not?
Indeed, and when I asked the headmaster he told me he left for the Hunter's Association. But how can he? When he left them a while ago, so tell us.. where were you really?"

I stare at him for a while, mouth wide open.
"wow.. just.. wow.."

He grins,
"I'm correct aren't I?"
I shake my head,
"Not at all"

He raises an eyebrow,
"Then please do explain"
I grin,
"Well then!"
I sigh in defeat,
"...I was training with Toga"

Kaname smiles,
"I knew it"

I roll my eyes,
"Whatever smarty pants, I bet it took you two months to figure this out"

He shakes his head,
"Two days"
"Ha! As if!"
He chuckles,
"Good to have you back"

I grin and look at the guys again.
"I'm back, baby!"
I say as I wink at them.
