Chapter Twenty - Business

Your POV

I woke up that morning with a splitting headache, "damn it, I really should take better care of myself" I got out of bed and looked at my reflection in the mirror, "eww, it looks like I'm Cinderella minus five showers.. and these damn bandages are not helping, I'm just bleeding the- that's not a good thing.." I looked at the clock, "huh, I woke up two hours ahead of schedule.. it's only six in the morning, I have two hours until I have to go to class.. I can probably take a quick shower and change the bandages. I walked to the bathroom, got the shower running, undressed and went in. After about thirty minutes of constant scrubbing with soap and carefully drying my wounded areas. I walked out of the bathroom and towards my closet, I took out my white uniform, I sort of just gave up on the skirt thing so I just wear the normal uniform now, much to Hanabusa's dismay. My hair had grown out yet again, I should probably get a haircut soon.. my (H/C) hair is already down to my lower back. I put it into two french, messy braids. I looked at the clock once again, it's only seven in the morning.. what should I do? "I wonder if they've served breakfast yet" I walk outside of my dorm and see the sun shining through the windows, glinting on the chandelier made of glass, it reminded me of the song so I started humming it unintentionally and thankfully, silently. I walked to the kitchen then a sudden realization hit me... I'm in the night class! class doesn't start until a few hours, I laugh out loud and smile, "well.. guess I'll check on the headmaster? haven't done that in a while" and so I walked out of the dorm and towards the headmaster's office. When I arrived, I knocked gently on the door, "headmaster? It's me, (Y/N)" I heard a cheerful laugh and a gentle, "come iiiiiin~" I chuckled as I opened the door, "good morning, headmaster. How are you?" the headmaster smiled at me, "I'm doing fine, better now actually, and you? How are your wounds?" I shrug as I sit down on a chair in front of his desk, "eh, I've been better but ya know.. its a thing us hunters go through" he lets out a small chuckle, "yes.. which reminds me! the Hunters Association contacted me, they asked me to talk to you about perhaps joining again?" my eyes widen but I blink it away and they relax, "yeah, sounds cool... but I'm rather out of practice, so if Toga is willing to teach me and go over the basics once again, then sure" headmaster's expression saddened a bit, "well, I'm sure we can arrange that" I sighed, "I mean.. he's probably busy with teaching so.. maybe you can help me?" how do I describe his reaction?.. hm.. like a five year old that hasn't gotten candy in a few months and he's being handed a lollipop.  "I'd love to help!" I smile gently, "that's great! thank you! when do we start?" he thought for a while, "how does now sound? I will inform your teacher and tell him that you will be spending the day with me so you might be slightly tired during lesson" I nod my head in gratitude, "I appreciate that, thank you very much!" we walked outside, "oh.. um, headmaster?" he hums in response, "may I please go to my dorm room and change outfits? I don't think a skirt will be great in this situation.." he blushed, perv, and nodded, "of course! I will be waiting by the front gates for you, take your time" I nodded and ran off to my dorm room. I went inside, quickly went out of my uniform and towards my closet. I looked at it and instantly knew what I was going to wear, I took out a wine red T-shirt, black jeans and my black combat boots. I went towards my dresser and opened my jewelry box, I took out a silver necklace that is in the shape of a vampire skull. After putting on my necklace in went under my bed and got out my weapons, I took three daggers and one gun, then I got my black army jacket, since it was starting to get cold outside. Two of the daggers I put under the sleeves of my jacket and the last on I put inside my shirt along with my gun, the shirt is quite loose which helps hide the weapons. Perfect. "let's rock and roll, baby" I walked outside and to the front gates, "right then, what will we start with?" I asked he headmaster as I continued to walk over, "well, you can start by addressing me by my real name instead of headmaster" I nod my head in understanding, "got it" the headmaster started to walk and so I followed, "so Cross, where are we going?" He continued to walk, "to the hunter's association, there you can tell them whatever you want and there's better training ground there than in the school" I nodded, "Understood" we continued walking in silence for a while when we came to a stop, we had arrived by the association. We walked to the president's office, there was a new president whose name is John, "ah, you must be (L/N), I've heard much about you" I flash him a grin, "only good things I hope" he grinned back, "heh, yeah, I've been told things such as how you've defeated many strong vampires single-handedly" I raise an eyebrow, "I'm sure that's exaggerated, who told you that?" The president tilted his head towards Cross and smiled, "I'm sure you understand" I nod, "yeah, well I'm here to tell you that I'd like to get back in business" he raised an eyebrow in confusion, making me sigh in the progress, "yes... as in I'd like to become active in the association" John's eyes widen for a second, "ohhh so that's what you meant! Of course you can! I'm sure you're very talented, we could use someone like you!.." I glared at him, "sexist" he chuckled, "now now, let's not make any assumptions" he attempted to place a hand on my shoulder but I slapped his hand away, "hate to brake it to ya, but I heard the sarcasm in your tone... you think I can't do it! You think I don't belong here, you believe that the stories about me are lies!" His face was flustered, "well I wouldn't say that..." there was a glint in my eyes and then I had the blade of the dagger that I'd placed under my shirt up against his neck, "you were saying?" It was obvious that the president was nervous because he was sweating, a lot! "You're just a sexist idiot, you think women shouldn't do anything dangerous, I bet you haven't had a girlfriend in years because of this!" I let him go and walked to the headmaster, "Kaien, if I am supposed to work under this sexist bastard.. I'd rather date Zero again, tch" I started heading towards the door when the president grabbed my hand, "wait!" I roughly took my hand back, "ten minutes, go" the president nodded, "alright, so.. I'm not actually sexist, but there are few women here because the ones that have tried out don't have what it takes but you do!" I'm about to smack him in the head but decide to not do it, "just for your information because you seem awfully stupid, which you are, I've been signed here for a long time, I took a break because of-ah, personal reasons.. so you bet-" he cut me off, "that's even better! You're truly amazing! You've got the attitude, the talent, the looks! You're perfect for this job!" I raise an eyebrow and suddenly my anger has disappeared, "what job?.. how well does it pay?" The president grinned, "you've got the guts and wisdom, even better. So the job is an undercover mission, might take a while.. but you need to go undercover and try to infiltrate a group of vampires who claim to be BlueBloods, which is impossible because they were extinct ages ago! They only exist in stories so.. will you do it?" I grinned, "with pleasure, give me the orders and I'm in!" Finally, headmaster spoke up, "you're not seriously gonna do this after last time?" I turned towards him and gave him a wicked grin, "I can finally pay them back!" The headmaster sighed in defeat, "(Y/N) is back in business baby!!" headmaster sighed as we walked out the door, "I have a bad feeling about this.."

The President grinned evilly as he spoke on the phone, "yes... she's walking right into our trap, she has no idea!"
