Chapter Thirty Eight - Repeated Question

Your POV
After meeting up with everyone again I went to my room. As I entered my room I noticed a small letter on my desk. I walked towards it and picked it up. On the outside it looked normal. It had a stamp and had carefully written words in black ink. The writer of the letter clearly spent some time on that or simply just has a good handwriting.. probably the latter. I open the letter.

"Dear (Y/N),  We heard you were back in the game. We hope that is true, for we have a mission for you. Come visit when you have the time, HA."

After reading the letter I smiled,
"So they want me back, huh.."

I chuckled and threw the letter in the trash,
"No thanks" I said. 

I put my hair in a ponytail and walked outside. As I walked down the stairs I saw Kaname. I waved and said, "I'm heading out for a run, I'll probably check by the headmaster's office on my way back."

Kaname nodded, "Have fun" he said as I left.

The weather was beautiful. The stars gleamed from the glow of the full moon. I stopped for a while to admire the beauty, "Wow.. so beautiful!"

A light breeze went thought the trees, the howl was so soothing. Then I heard a shuffle in the trees. I turned and looked around, I slowly move my hands towards my waist grabbing the handle of my pistol.

"Who's there!"

I yelled as my palms tightened around the handle. I peered my eyes between two tall oak trees. There was a pair of glowing white eyes. I let out a sigh of relief and remove my hands from the pistol. "Just you, Shiki"

Shiki comes out of the shadows, "Hi" he says calmly.

"What are you doing out here?" I asked as I walked closer to him.

He shrugs, "I like the woods, they're calming"

I smile, "I get it. I feel the same.. I used to come here way more often but.. stuff happened"

He nods, "Yeah"

We look at each other for a while, staring deeply in each other's eyes. For a moment, I felt like everything was normal, I felt safe. I turned away, blushing slightly.

"Sorry.." I said in embarrassment.

He raises an eyebrow in response, "for what?"

I sigh, "Don't mind it. Anyway, I should get going.. I need to finish my run, Toga might actually kill me if I don't."

He chuckles, "Good luck and don't work too hard. You only just got back, I wouldn't wanna loose you again."

My eyes widen, "W-what?"

He blushes, "I-I mean we! We wouldn't want to loose you again!"

I nod, "Y-yeah.. See ya.." I say as I turn away and start running again. Did he really just?.. I shake my head, no, he wouldn't.. Or would he?

After I got back from my run I hurried to my room to shower. I sigh as I realize the situation. "After everything.. Their feelings probably haven't changed.." I get out of the shower and lay down on my bed. I was too lazy to get dressed so I just laid there in my towel and closed my eyes. I sighed yet again, "Why?"

"Why what?"

I shoot up. I grab the nearest object, a hairbrush, and get ready to attack. As soon as I look up I notice that it's Takuma. "Jeez, you scared me Takuma.." I say and let out another sigh of relief.

He chuckles, "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Just came to drop off a few books for class, since well.. you haven't been attending class..."

My eyes widen, "SH*T!"

He laughs, "Don't worry, I took notes for you. Not that you missed anything important."

I shake my head, "I'm new at the whole vampire history thing. I kinda need to pay attention haha" He chuckles again, "Well, if you're ever in trouble.. You can always ask me for help. I won't hesitate to assist you, especially since it's you."

"Thank you Takuma, that's very kind of you.. Of course, I know that's not the only thing you want"

He raises an eyebrow, "What makes you say that?"

I sigh, "I mean with.. well, me."

He sighs, "You certainly learned something while you were gone."

I shake my head, "No, not while I was gone.." I take deep breath before continuing, "Deep down I've always known you still had feelings for me, the others as well. Earlier, Shiki made it very clear he cares about me. Now you. Only time can tell when the others will confess. "

He stares at me for a while. Mouth wide open.

"Wow. Just wow. You've matured so much. And you're not wrong, I still have feelings for you.." He sighs, "Alas, I've always known about how the others felt about you. We all had a mutual agreement to not make a move on you. So that you could decide on your own. At first you chose Zero, then a few others, in between you disappeared and who knows who you met there."

I nodded, "True"

"So I don't see the problem." He said.

I plop down on my bed and sigh, "There is no problem.. for you anyway." I lay down, "Why do all of you have feelings for me? Why couldn't it be someone else?.." He shrugs. "Why do all you have to have feelings for me instead of just a few." I put emphasis on 'you' and sit back up. "And lastly.. why not come forward earlier and tell me before I disappeared, all of the chances I gave all of you! Why?!"

His shoulders slump, "I'm not sure.. I mean it's not like I haven't thought about it.. It's more like I didn't want to put the extra pressure on you.. I believe the others felt the same way. There is always so much going on in your life, relationships would not make it easier for you."

I sigh yet again, "You're right. It wouldn't.."

I shake my head, "I need some time alone.. thank you for telling me all of this.. I need some time to take it all in.."

He nodded and left.

I sigh, "Why? I'll finally have to chose, huh.. This is certainly gonna be interesting"
