Iara~

It took a minute to run from the back of the castle to the front. I pushed open one of the oaken doors, and walked inside. I heard a few voices, and then both Eragon and Marumen walked downstairs. Grimm snorted and then turned and walked into the empty room.

I'll be in here if you need anything.

Alright.

Marumen held a towel to his nose, and whenever he talked he sounded a bit funny. Eragon was listening in silence. I took a step forward and both of them halted. Eragon sighed and forced a relieved smile.

"Thank goodness you're alright.." I looked at myself. I looked a little scraped up, and I even plucked a leaf from my hair.

"Wait what happened to you?" Marumen said.

"I...uh..." I didn't even know. I looked over at Eragon for help.

"Your sister jumped off her balcony."

"She what?!" he shrieked. Eragon just nodded slowly. Marumen looked over at me, a look of horror in his eyes.

"Bro calm down im fine." I said.

"I think we all need to just sit down and figure out what happened.." Eragon said.

"Oh yeah, like I don't know about you punching me in the face." Marumen snapped. He then turned and stormed off into the kitchen.

"Eragon you did what now?!" I said. So that was why he had a towel.

"Iara, calm down-"

"Blood is streaming from his nose!" I said.

"Self defense!" Eragon replied. I sighed and followed my brother into the kitchen. I heard Eragon follow behind me. Marumen was sitting down towards the end, where he always did, with his head down on the table, in the towel.

"Marumen what are you doing?"

"I got light headed...too much blood...eew..." He mumbled through the cloth. I sat down next to him and lifted his head from the towel. I actually laid his head in my lap, so he was facing up. His nose was bloody, and the light from the chandelier made him squint. I looked at his eyes and gasped.

"Marumen...are you okay?"

"Why? What's wrong?"

"Eragon, come here now please." I said. If Eragon messed up his eyes too... Eragon walked over and looked at Marumen...he just stared.

"I'll go get a mirror...neither of you move, alright?"

"Guys stop please, what's wrong?" I could tell Marumen was beginning to panic. You could hear it in his voice. I could hear Eragon's footsteps on the stairs.

"Marumen did you see it too?"

"The bird?"

"Yeah."

"I did.."

"Not a word to Eragon until we know more, okay?"

"Yeah yeah.." he said. I looked at his eyes once more. Where the white was, there was blood.

"What's up with my eyes?"

"Nothing, they're just a little red, that's all. Im wondering if he broke your nose so bad it messed up your eyes too."

"Thank goodness I though something was really wrong... don't do that I was panicking. You'll tell me if something is really wrong, right?"

"I promise." Better have him calm now. At least, until Eragon returns.
