~Kaitlynn’s Point of View~

“Katy, Niall, your mam’s here!” Dad shouted from the hallway of the first floor, where all of our bedrooms were. I threw my packed bag over my shoulder and looked around the room once more to check that I didn’t forget anything important, looked at myself in the mirror again, brushed my hair once more, and left the room.

“Hey!” I called out to Niall as he passed by me in the hallway, completely ignoring the fact that his massive guitar case bumped into me.

“Oh stop whining.” He sneered. I rolled my eyes and descended down the stairs to meet Mum.

“Here, I’ll take it, sweetheart.” Mum told Niall and took away his guitar. “Oh look at you, Lainey!” she exclaimed and grabbed my shoulders to get a better look at me. “You’re getting more and more beautiful by the minute!” I dropped my head and my cheeks burnt in recognition to her complement.

“Maura,” Dad greeted her with a formal nod.

“Bobby,” she replied with the same tone.

“Alright, your nana is waiting for you.” She said with a warm smile and Niall marched ahead to the door, only to be stopped by Dad’s voice calling for him.

“Be nice to your sister, Niall.” He said firmly and Niall just shrugged and left the house and entered Mum’s red car, to the left of the driver. “I’ll see you Sunday, Katy.” Dad said softly and hugged me.

“I’ll ring you tonight.” I said to him and kissed his cheek.

“Mum, when are we going to Nana’s?” I asked her shyly once I got in the car, behind her seat. She smiled warmly at me.

“Actually, you are sleeping at her house tonight. I have errands to run and she agreed to get you for tonight. I’ll come pick you two up tomorrow morning and we’ll go back to my house, okay?” I sighed quietly and nodded, and then I just plugged in my earphones and shut the world out of my life.

“Lainey,” Mum nudged at my shoulder, waking me up from my dreamless sleep. “We’re here.”

“What’s the use?” Niall said with a spiteful attitude. “She’s just going to hide behind you until Nana’s going to notice her, and then she’ll just be all awkward and act like a baby.” I choked up my tears and kicked some dirt with my shoe.

“Niall!” Mum yelped at him. As a response, he just shrugged his shoulders innocently and Mum sighed in despair.

“Niall, Maura, come in, come in.” Nana invited the two of them in. “Didn’t you tell me you’re brining Kaitlynn as well?”

“She’s just hiding behind Mum, being a baby.” Niall commented and pointed his arm at my general direction.

“Niall…” Mum huffed.

“Stop pestering your little sister.” Nana warned him. “Come here, dear. I have some warm biscuits.” I smiled shyly and let her hug me lightly.

“I’ll start the tea.” Mum said with a smile and laid Niall’s guitar at the entrance, only for it to be picked up by his protective hands.

“Do you two want to watch some film?” Nana asked. Niall shrugged his shoulder, not caring about anything around him, and I just nodded slightly. “I don’t have any new films, so just choose whatever you want on the computer.” She left the room for a minute and came back with a laptop Niall accepted happily.

“Share it with Lainey.” Mum warned Niall, who huffed in annoyance and placed it on the centre of the coffee table in the living room.

“What’s this band?” I asked him quietly as he pressed the icon to some “The Script” called band.
