Chapter 69
Mia's POV
"Why are you leaving so soon?" Harry asked once I got out of the bathroom after changing back into my dress and pulling my hair into a quick ponytail. It was now dry since he threw it in the dryer this morning.
"Because I need to. I don't really have a purpose for staying here since the wedding is over," I told him, walking down the stairs as he trailed behind me. "And can you please put a shirt on."
I've no idea why guys stroll around shirtless in their homes.
"Well, at least tell me where you're going."
"To be honest, I've no clue." I really didn't.
"You're really confusing."
Maybe I was. I didn't know how to get back home since Zayn drove here and if I took a bus, the closest town I knew was Dumfries. Where would I go from there? I really needed to set my priorities straight.
"Can I at least drive you to the bus station?" Harry offered but I turned it down. He's done enough for me already.
"You can call me a cab?" I suggested.
"Why can't I just take you?"
"I need to make a stop before I leave," I reassured him a with a smile. "So can you call me one? I'm serious."
"Call one yourself," he crossed his arms, his phone in one hand.
"Please, Harry? I'd really feel more comfortable with a cab.." I coaxed him with my most friendliest voice. "Do this for me. I don't want to be seen with the Harry Styles and be romantically connected to him."
When I reached the front door, he tapped his foot, thinking about it.
"Fine." He gave in and I jumped for joy. Not really, but I was glad he caved. There's really not much persuasion that I had to do with Harry. It was a whole different story with Zayn though since he was so thick headed with his thick black hair, thick eyelashes, thick eyebrows. Thick ego.
"Then how about Zayn?" He asked, after making the quick phone call.
"What about him?" I acted like I could care less at the mention of his name but simply hearing it made my heart flap around my chest.
"How come you're fine with him in public?"
"I'm not. We're just lucky we haven't gotten caught yet.."
"Yeah, they don't come around to Doncaster often so don't worry about it here," he smiled.
Harry was such a nice guy. I couldn't grasp the fact that he was still a single bachelor when he was one of the most eligible in all of England. Probably because he wasn't sure who would love him for who he was and only love him because of his name. Even though there wasn't a boy band called One Direction anymore, I'm sure there's still people who fancy him.
"When will we see each other again?"
"I don't know, honestly..I'm going to be really busy.." I told him as I opened the door. "But I'll call you for a cup of coffee sometime."
He gave me a farewell hug before I rushed off his property in hopes that no one would see me leave Harry Styles' Doncaster home.
Except there was one person who saw me, and when I caught him staring, my entire body tensed, adrenaline rushing through my veins, as he leaned against the hood of his car. What was he doing here? I thought he'd left last night...Did he sleep in his car the entire night?
The same suit he wore at the wedding answered my question. He was still in his white collar shirt which was tucked inside of his black dress pants. His hair pushed back except for one strand that flew back and forth from the morning winds, exposing that perfect forehead of his. Everything, from head to toe, about this man was breathtaking and I hated myself for still being attracted him after what he had done to me.
