I sit next to the lifeless body of Aaliya. Silent tears streaming down my face. I didn't care who saw this time.
Frypan moves a strand of her hair out of her face. He hasn't said a word since the whole ambush and after. No need his face says enough. While I have tears he just has anger written on his face.
Aris is the first to break the silence with a soft cough. He has his arm awkwardly around Jessica's shoulder whom for some reason sought comfort with him.
"We should get out of here in case they come back" he says quietly and Next him Newt nods looking towards the direction the helicopter went.
"Who cares" Frypan spat anger even clearer in his voice. I never knew that kind of side of him. I don't want to be WCKD when he comes for blood.
Newt looks at me moving his head to side urging me to say something. Right yes. No time to waste now. I take a deep breath, wipe my tears away and stand up.
"He's right" I begin. Frypans head immediately shoots up but I continue before he can bite my head off "the dead can't hear us. And we still got living friends that need our help. So get off you ass and let's avenge her" I hold my hand out to him. He looks one more time at Aaliya giving her a kiss on the forehead before he accepts my hand. I pull him up, which was harder then I anticipated. Sometimes I'm stronger and taller then I really am.
"I don't want to be the killjoy or anything. But how are we going to save them in the first place" Jessica asks finally speaking for the first time since WCKD came.
"We break in of course" I tell them making them all stare at me like I have lost it.
"Are you bloody mad they will capture us on sight or worse" Newt tells me making me roll my eyes.
"I don't say we go in there guns blazing. We won't even make it through the front door" I tell him and he visibly relaxes.
"And how do you purpose we are going to do that?"
"We wait for night fall-" I hold my hand up when they want to try to protest "we need the cover of darkness. They will see us coming from miles away otherwise" I explain making him nod.
"Alright darkness, what else?" Aris asks.
"If you let me continue I will tell you" I shot back and he raises his arms like I point a weapon at him. "We are going to use the cranks" I say smiling and this time I do realise it sounds crazy as hell.
"Ok stay with me. We spread out and start to scream as loud as we can. They should be on us in a second which we use to our advantage"
"Are you mad we can't run from here to there with cranks chasing us" Jessica exclaims fear all over her face.
"You idiot I don't mean right now. I mean when we are close to the building. Look around you so many empty buildings I am sure there are a few of those things around they always are if you remember"
Newt slowly nods "and when they start to attack the choas will help us to slip inside" he finishes for me and I smile. He gets my plan.
"Exactly! And once inside we will lock most of the guards outside"
"The plan is insane" Jessica deapans. Of course she won't get along with it.
"Right. Like you have a better idea" Aris shot back making her shut up. Surprised I look at him, quiet waters I suppose but I'm glad he did.
"This is all a crazy plan but we need crazy. But what of when we are inside?" Frypan asks and I am not sure how to response to that. I haven't thought thst far but I suppose we need to have to split up. Jess and I-since we are the only once left of group D for the moment and we still have a mission to complete.
"We will split up. Boys will go looking for Ceylon, Thomas and Minho. While Jess and I are going to look for Ava paige"
"We don't even know she's there. I'm not doing some suicide mission with you" She complains and I immediately wish she was taken instead of Ceylon. She would have my back and not think these crazy thoughts.
"Look you nit wit. This whole thing we are about to do is suicide but we have to complete our mission otherwise rescuing our friends won't help us" I growled at her making her shut up.
"And to answer your other question. We do know she's there" I point at the WCKD building in the distance until she follows it with her gaze "that awfully looks like a headquarter to me. And the right arm themselves told us what a control freak she is. Trust me she's there and we are going to kill her" I tell her looking her right in the eyes and she returns it with a wicked smile.
"You are. I am not turning into a killer"
"Fine by me" I retort deciding not to let that comment get to me. Besides it will come in handy when we gave her.
"Great. Now that we have some sort of a plan I suggest we get moving" Newt says and takes the lead walking in front of the group. I have to speed up a bit to catch up to him.
"I haven't thanked you yet" I say quietly. He looks at me confused.
"If you hadn't stopped me I would have been captured. Or with my luck probably be dead" I tell him and he smiles shortly.
"You have survived quite a few deaths. Gice yourself some credit" he says as lightly as he can but I can hear he is worried.
"So has Ceylon. And so has Thomas. We will get them back" I tell him. But even I am not sure.
