After the battle in the future, it was 'calm' again. Inoue was forced to 'properly' move in with Hibari (No more weekends at home), and Tsuna, along with Yamamoto and Gokudera, were doing their usual routine, some random destruction around Tsuna's.
It was early morning, and Inoue was already up and in the kitchen, baking from the looks of it. Hibari came in with his black pajamas yawning, "What are you doing?"
She didn't bother turning to greet him, "I'm baking," was her simple reply, to which she got glared at for the stupid answer, so she finally turned around, "I'm making some cakes for Tsuna-san and his friends. For winning in the battle."
He took a seat at the table, bringing out a newspaper, "Why would you bother celebrating with those herbivores?"
She placed a mug of coffee beside him, somehow finding the time to quickly make him a cup, "Because I saw how beaten up they were... besides, I like how excitable the group is, they never get a break." She smiled thinking about all the shenanigans surrounding them. "So take me to his house later?"
He sighed, finishing his coffee and going to his room to get dressed for morning patrol.
Inoue happily strolled down the street with Hibari just behind her, giving off a kind of threatening thick aura. She held in her hand a box containing beautifully decorated cupcakes and she even made some cookies too. Hibari already had his share earlier when he came back from Namimori Middle.
She stood in front of the Sawada house, already hearing the clamour and shouting inside. Hibari was leaning against the wall just opposite, watching her carefully. She knocked, and for a moment the inside quieted down, the door was then opened by a familiar smiley face, the brunette that was Sawada Nana, the nicest person Inoue believed she'd ever meet.
"Doumo," She bowed, "I have some gifts for Tsuna-san and his friends..." She still spoke quietly despite the older woman's obvious friendliness.
"Mai-chan! Tsuna-kun and everyone else are just having lunch," she said while dragging Inoue inside, not feeling the murderous aura Hibari was emitting. "Tsuna-kun! Mai-chan's here!"
"EEH!?? INOUE-SAN!??" He probably thought where Inoue was, Hibari was too. He was right.
"Hello, Tsuna-san." She greeted, seeing everyone sitting around the table. Yamamoto, Gokudera, that Bianchi lady with goggles on, the children, it was lively as expected. "I brought some cakes to celebrate you beating Byakuran." She tried smiling, but it wasn't all that effective when Lambo and the other kids began shouting out about cake.
"As expected of the housewife of the Vongola tenth generation," Reborn added in, sipping his coffee. Inoue blushed, Tsuna on the other hand was questioning that position... since when was there a housewife in the Vongola? And she wasn't even married... "She's much more talented than Dame-Tsuna will ever be, she'll end up doing all your work for you." So she's a secretary now!?
When she opened the box and placed the goods down, there were similar reactions, mainly awing at the quality. Lambo just stole one without waiting to admire them. Reborn casually took one too, stepping back and enjoying the cake, watching the others begin to fight over them, mainly Lambo who started that, Bianchi was offended that her cooking was being compared to Inoue's and... it all went wrong really.
The bazooka was brought out despite Tsuna pleads, and that's when Lambo tripped over a fallen cake, dropping the bazooka and it hitting an unaware Inoue. Thankfully Nana wasn't in the room, instead upstairs doing laundry...
Tsuna was deathly pale, Gokudera was shouting at the cow, Yamamoto was laughing without a care in the world, while the others were curious as to what she'd be like.
"Huh?" Her voice was already a good sign, it was a soft and heavenly sounding tone; but when the smoke cleared they had to reassure themselves that they hadn't summoned an angel or something. She was practically glowing, since when did she get so beautiful? Reborn could only sigh, a shame this woman was Hibari's future spouse. "Is that...?"
"I-I-Inoue...-san?" Tsuna muttered, seeing the woman stand and brush off her skirt. She had long, really long hair, tied back in a high ponytail, no longer did she have bangs but long clumps of hair swept to the sides of her face; she wore a white dress shirt tucked into a long -if you look closely- purple tinted dark skirt, along with a similar coloured blazer. She looked really professional. Not to mention her pale skin, pink lips and long eyelashes, she was like a real Yamato Nadeshiko! Only Reborn and Bianchi noticed the glimmer of a ring on her left hand.
"If it isn't 15 year old Tsunayoshi..." She smiled, turning to Yamamoto and Gokudera, probably nostalgic. "This is bringing back memories." All of a sudden the window behind them broke, revealing a livid Hibari. Tsuna shrieked before being kicked by Reborn.
He could only stare at the older Inoue. Then glare at Tsuna.
"Kyoya!" Her eyes widened a little before a large smile took over her shock, she was quite clearly blushing though. Was she seriously still jittery around him in the future? "Don't worry, I'll be back in a few minutes." He jumped down from the window, feeling annoyed at all the crowding, but pretty relieved to know that she was still alive in ten years.
His relief was shared with everyone else who was there and knew of Inoue's death. "Inoue got a lot more confident huh?" Yamamoto muttered to a gaping Tsuna beside him, Gokudera was just scowling, yet enjoying the one cookie he salvaged.
"I'm glad she isn't gone in the future..." He sighed in reply, trying and failing to calm his blushing cheeks.
"But before that, tell me, do you still have that box?" She smiled somewhat teasingly? Hibari immediately knew what she meant and glared at her, in other words, yes.
"You found it." He frowned, feeling as though he should relocate it now.
She smiled, "It's a precious memory of mine." Scrap that, he wasn't moving it.
Suddenly, the woman was enveloped in pink clouds and a younger version of herself was revealed, completely red faced and flustered, not saying a word, just covering her face with her hands. Seeing this, Hibari dragged her out and planned to make her spill what had happened.
Inoue was surprised to find herself suddenly transported to some weird place, seemingly an office. She heard a muffled, "That Lambo..."
When the smoke cleared, she was faced with a rather intimidating desk and attractive man behind it, "Are you okay, Inoue?" He asked, a deeper voice than what she expected.
"Tsu-Tsuna-san?" She mumbled, recognising that crazy hair. He sighed, nodding.
"You got hit by the bazooka right?" He asked, but before she could answer, a familiar raven haired man burst in. "...Hibari, you know you don't have to wait outside every time..."
"Hm? Is this 16 year old Mai?" Tsuna nodded only to have Hibari smirk in reply. Somehow deeming it okay for the cloud to be alone in the same room as her, Tsuna left his own office with the excuse of needing some fresh air.
"Kyoya?" Inoue muttered, blushing when he knelt in front of her and grabbed her chin, seriously what was with him always acting this way!? She noticed the ring on his finger immediately, and almost passed out from the heat rising on her face. "T-T-T-That... That ring!?" He smirked again, seeing her adorable state.
"You don't want to marry me?" That was practically the last straw, "You were mentioning children the other day." Nope, that was definitely the last straw, she passed out.
When she returned to her own time, she was slightly conscious but her head was swirling with all of what future Hibari had said.
She never did tell Hibari what happened in the five minutes though.
"Since when did I mention children to you?"
"You didn't."
