She'd somewhat strangely gotten used to commuting by helicopter now; perhaps the fact that there were a bunch of other people arriving in helicopters, and the security as well, made her feel a little more normal. As expected though, the venue was a private castle. There were tables laid out in the front lawn area and she could see hundreds of people already gathered, talking and enjoying themselves, drinking wine and eating the food laid out. 

Kusakabe let them off at the designated area. Was having a designated area for helicopters to land weird? Hibari, not wanting anyone to get the wrong idea, immediately and protectively laid an arm around Mai's waist. 

They walked towards the crowd, staying nearer the edges because it was a crowd and Hibari does hate them. They found a little quiet spot for themselves nearer the edge towards the trees, got drinks and just waited for something to happen pretty much. Well, something did happen rather quickly actually.

"Kyoya!" An awfully familiar voice shouted out from probably from across the venue, "And Mai!" 

Hibari clicked his tongue as soon as the voice met his ear; Mai was smiling, actually a little happy to see the guy again. 

The blonde Italian man soon emerged from the crowd with a stupid grin on his face as he raced over to the pair. "Haneuma..." Hibari scowled, 100% ready to start a fight. 

"Ahaha~ sorry but we can't fight here..." Dino rubbed the back of his neck, a meek smile taking over the previous grin after seeing Hibari already had tonfa in hand. 

"Where's Tsuna-san, Dino-san?" Mai spoke up, breaking the hostile atmosphere. 

"Tsuna's on his way here now along with the other guardians," Dino informed, becoming somewhat like a normal adult and not an excitable five year old, "and Kyoya, don't start a fight with anyone right now, I promise I'll fight you afterwards..." He sounded exhausted but, well, that was how it was with Hibari. 

"Hn." Although he sounded apathetic about the whole ordeal, he was possibly more happy about it than he first seemed. Maybe not happy but pleased. 

"Ah, and Mai you look really good!~" Dino grinned innocently - then he was chased away after Hibari's tonfa burned with cloud flames. 

Kusakabe came over after... parking the helicopter? Who even knows anymore. He conversed with Hibari, probably about work; mentioning some subordinates and what have you. It was nice seeing them talking like friends, even though it was more akin to boss and underling... 

Mai joined in since she wasn't ignorant to what they were doing, they were mostly talking about the discipline of Namimori and then Kusakabe began mentioning research on the rings and an investigation on the newly engineered box weapons - that were being distributed around anonymously. 

"Box weapons?" Mai interrupted, noticing that they'd completely forgotten she was there and had no idea what they were talking about. Hibari glared at Kusakabe, putting the blame on him even though Hibari himself was talking about it too. 

"Scouts stationed in Italy and France have reported seeing officers of different families walking around with boxes that look and seem to be box weapons." Kusakabe explained, before adding, "You were busy with studying, so we decided to wait until you had finished to tell you." 

She smiled slightly, "I see. I have a lot of catching up to do... I graduate in a couple months, is this what you wanted to explain?" She asked, looking towards Hibari this time who turned away from her.

"Not exactly." 

Mai dropped the subject, feeling that if she pried any further the mood would sour. 

"Is that Mai-chan?"
"Mai-chan!!~" 

Mai turned to see Kyoko, Haru and Chrome hurrying over to her. She was confused as to why the first two, Kyoko and Haru, were here but supposed it was since they were technically, in some way, involved with the Vongola. That's why she was here at least. 

"I didn't know you were coming!" Mai uttered as the three girls stood in front of her, wide smiles on their faces. 

"I go wherever Tsuna-san goes!" Haru declared, still, for some reason, obsessively in love with Tsuna. 

"Nii-san mentioned it, we're here to support Tsuna-kun." Kyoko explained cheerily, possibly not realising she was surrounded by mafia families, good and bad. 

"How is it?" Mai smiled too, finding her mood raising already. 

"You should come inside, there's a buffet table full of cakes..." Chrome answered, a small smile on her face. 

"You've already been inside?" Mai questioned, a little shocked since she'd only just gotten here about half an hour, maybe three quarters of an hour ago.

"We arrived about thirty minutes ago and went to explore inside first." Kyoko explained, "Do you want to walk around with us?" She asked smiling, both Haru and Chrome mirroring her expression.

Mai was unsure, Hibari might not want her to walk off carelessly, "Go." -but that was all she needed. Wow it kinda made her feel like a dog...

She followed the girls around, introducing herself to some people, eating some cake, drinking a small amount of wine and just having a good time. Tsuna came over once, dressed up in a suit and looking like it was the end of the world. He was followed by the usual trio, Reborn, and Lambo, but what surprised her was even Mukuro was following behind them, without Ken or Chikusa who were probably hiding in the bushes. 

He didn't seem to be happy or sad, possibly annoyed but that's probably because people were whispering about him. 

Everyone, the girls and Tsuna's 'gang' talked for a long time about anything and everything. 

Soon, it was time to file into the hall. Mai was still with Kyoko and the others and had no idea where Hibari was. She could see members of the Varia strutting down the hall easily, people all hurriedly opening up a path for the infamous group to pass through. 

Since Mai was with the Vongola it wasn't like she was being pushed around, in fact no one got in their way. The gossiping was the only thing. 

Hibari, from somewhere, joined up with everyone, holding back from fighting Mukuro, to everyone's glee. 

He hung nearer the back where Mai joined him. He immediately put an arm around her waist, and continued like that into the grand hall where all of the guardians stood in a line in front, and beside, their boss, Tsuna. Nono's guardians were the same, only on the opposite side; like a triangle kind of shape.

For whatever reason the girls were there with them...? Granted, Hibari wouldn't have let go of Mai anyway, but Kyoko was stood with her brother and Haru next to Gokudera. 

All watching as the ceremony started.

Nothing of too much importance happened, Tsuna inherited the Vongola, there were some celebrations and congratulations, Tsuna was preparing himself for hell when a bomb went off.

Can't say they didn't see that one coming.

I, unsurprisingly, love me some bnha. Never really got that far in any ff ive tried to write for it mainly because I wasn't as into it as other things (KHR for one) but now I've reread the manga in book form because I bought them ages ago for no reason I realised shit I'm falling.

I've grown in that aspect. I've come to realise just how much of a whore for shounen I am. this is already too long of an AN so ill stop nattering now.
