Hibari 'agreed' to Fon's invitation, only after being reassured that he'd get to fight Dino. Although there was also the thought of getting to fight the Varia and Tsuna's group, the little baby ended up staying with the estranged couple.
Mainly around Inoue, Hibari was a little harder to deal with. Plus the two got along well.
She sat on a floor cushion in one of the rooms in Hibari's house, she wasn't sure what the prefect was doing, but she was getting help with her training from Fon. Who was saying that she should learn some martial arts instead of illusions, but she continued to deny the offer, saying she was far too weak.
He taught her anyway. As much as he could teach in a day, at least. Despite that, he did actually help with her illusions, plus he was a better teacher than Hibari... Some of what he said, about martial arts and a peaceful state of mind, did actually help her in the training, since being calm creates a stronger and stabler illusion.
Other than training, she was mostly reading books, playing with Mei, chatting a little with Fon. Hibari came in once or twice, she'd make some tea, and he'd sit with her for a bit before going off somewhere; probably patrolling again.
Until the fated day came, she and Hibari arrived at school early, like always, and she shrouded the area in her mist flames; since there was no doubt going to be giant explosions and the like, normal people walking by probably wouldn't appreciate it. So the image of a peaceful building was created.
Since she wasn't exhausted after the first few hours of school, she could only guess that she was getting used to using them; after all, it all boils down to experience. ーThat and the amount of flames you can produce.
It wasn't as if she was going to be some psychic master after a couple weeks, besides, she can't fight for her life.
Instead of moving around, she stayed in the reception room, to make her job easier; Hibari, on the other hand, was restless the entire day. He burned through all the paperwork and homework, so he had nothing to do for the last hours of school. Except drink tea and nap.
There was also the problem of Inoue being busy, both practicing using flames and concentrating on veiling the school. So he wasn't just going to disrupt her or anything; in the end he just went out on patrol with Fon sitting on his head. Thankfully the baby was of the quiet type, Hibari almost forgot he was in the room with them.
Inoue knew that the prefect had left, and kinda followed him... well, she watched him go outside and then began watching him out the window in the hall. He was walking down one of the paths before he stopped suddenly and looked at his watch, then moved behind a tree for some reason? She wasn't going to question him, it was probably Fon that told him to anyway.
Although she supposed the fight period had just began, she heard and felt a disturbance in her barrier. She couldn't find the strength to sweat drop at the impatience though, instead, she focused on making sure none of the people on campus except her, and those battling, could hear and see it.
Even though she wanted to stay and watch Hibari fight, she almost laughed at the reaction of Ryohei, Yamamoto, and Gokudera when they saw him jump out with an Arcobaleno on his head, she kind of wanted to check on Sawada's condition...
Well, seeing as Hibari just destroyed Ryohei's watch so easily, it doesn't seem like it'll be that interesting... so... She scurried off to find Sawada -or Tsuna-
In a giant crater.
Does this guy not realise there's still school tomorrow?
"...Um... Sawada-san?" The large man in overalls turned at the small voice, he seemed to have just been on the phone, but it wasn't like Inoue cared about that, he'd just destroyed a classroom and about three walls -and the floor, "You are going to take responsibility for the destruction, right? Unlike those in the battles, students still need to have a classroom to learn in."
His reaction was almost comical, he grinned innocently and laughed a little, obviously completely guilty, it was a turnaround from about two minutes ago. "Aha!~ Sorry about that! I'll get some friends to clean it up later!~" Other than that, he was way too happy and carefree about beating up his son and destroying part of the school...
Inoue sighed, a frown on her lips as she looked at Tsuna's beaten and unconscious form, the baby, Reborn, was approaching him too. Well she wasn't too interested in what they had to say, save from their new alliance, instead, she was focused on checking whether Tsuna was fine -which he was, no broken bones or anything.
So she left, obviously.
Hibari wouldn't want her crowding with the enemy team that he so wants to 'bite to death', so she returned to the reception room. Hopefully no one realises there are illusions, otherwise they may break a leg or something falling down that hole...
Hibari came back pretty soon after she'd just sat down, looking rather disappointed.
"...? What happened?" Inoue questioned as he sat behind his desk, she didn't see Fon around either, perhaps he was outside still?
"They ran." Her lips twitched slightly, she expected as much. It was hard enough not to start laughing, but after Hibird started to 'console' Hibari by singing the school anthem... A tiny little 'Pfft!~' sound escaped. As if trying to hide the fact she was laughing, she held her mouth to muffle the sounds, but... "Is something funny?" He stared at her, an irritated smirk pulling at his lips.
Composing herself quickly, she waved her hands frantically, "No! I just..." When her bird started singing the anthem, she couldn't help but burst out laughing. She didn't even know why she was laughing at this point. Well, perhaps the thought of Hibari teaching all of those birds how to sing the anthem was... amusing. "S-Sorry! Pfft - You just seem s-so bothered -pft- by it... It's adorab..." Her words grew quieter as she spoke, seeing Hibari making his way over to her, she began to think she should have picked her words more carefully.
She was startled and nervous when he'd slammed a hand down on the back of the sofa, beside her head; he leaned down closer to her face, that smirk was beginning to get more and more terrifying by the second. It was always in times like this that she doesn't want to look into his eyes, that, she wasn't going to lie, she loved, but she just couldn't help it... it was like she'd been paralysed and forbidden from turning away.
"I'm 'adorable'?" She was dead, totally dead.
"I-I-I didn't say t-that!!" From the bright red flaring cheeks to the shake in her voice and futile averting of eyes that were dragged back to his as soon as they left; it was obvious to say, she was lying. She'd never been able to lie to him before, now isn't any different. She looked down and muttered almost inaudibly, "Like a puppy..."
If she wasn't going to get out of it, may as well finish it.
When he sighed, Inoue put her guard down a little, since he hasn't gotten out any sharp weapon yet either, "You're the puppy around here." -He heard!!! She'd whispered that so quietly!? Why is it he only hears the things he wants to hear?!
He grabbed her chin and forced her to look up into his narrowed grey irises, as his locked with her azure doe-like eyes, his smirk turned more predatory as he drew closer, "At least..." She listened to his hanging words with bated breath, she could already guess what he was about to say, already feeling his warm breath against her neck, "You sound like one."
-Meanwhile in the tree, a little Chinese baby was sitting back with a cup of tea that materialised out of nowhere,
"Oh, youth."
Wow finally her eye colour is revealed, at first it was purple but then I realised
SHIT!? BLUE TOTAAALLLY FITS!?
and that's how it went.
