A/n: You guys want it, you're getting it. :)
Waking up to a little boy cuddled up to her was the best thing Lauren has ever felt in so long. She just wishes that Jacob would want her every single night, just so she doesn't feel the loneliness of sleeping without her wife. The little boy was the last piece of Camila she had intact. She knew that their marriage was slowly falling apart. That Camila had most probably moved on, and just stayed for the sake of her son. Lauren couldn't necessarily explain it, but the love she has for Jacob doesn't wither.
"Mami?" Jacob sleepily called out for her despite their closeness.
"Good morning, my little one." Lauren happily coos, hiding the tiny crack in her voice. He wasn't entirely hers. Jacob was pure Camila's and a donor's. But to her, that thought never even crossed her mind.
"Mami, why does mama not want you anymore?" The little boy asked curiously. Not knowing the gravity of his question.
"What are you saying, Jakey?"
"I heard mama talk to that Mark guy. She said it's a talk for big people so she asked me to go out. But I forgot my car in mama's room. When I was on the door mama said she no like you anymore."
Lauren's heart broke at his question. She knew this all along, but hearing it from the innocent boy's view was rather heartbreaking.
"Babe, sometimes things don't go the way they should... And people just say goodbye. It's painful, but that's what happens in real life."
"Don't worry mami, I would never not like you. I love you mami." The little boy said as he enclosed Lauren in a tight hug, hovering over his Mami's stomach.
"What do you say we prepare breakfast then play ball outside?" Lauren offered while faking her smile. She was lucky he loved her, as he was the only one holding her together.
Hurriedly, Jacob grabbed Lauren by her arm, causing her to stumble over her slippers. As she regained her balance, she already found the little boy running off to the kitchen. Pulling out a pancake mix, Lauren acted as if she was so ignorant on how to make it to let the little boy take control. "Jake, I don't know what to do with this..."
"You get 2 eggs! Then crack and mix mix mix!" The little boy ecstatically said, happy that for a change, it was his Mami that was making breakfast with him as opposed to his mama.
Doing as he said, Lauren knelt to get a hold of Jacob and lifted him up to her waist. "Mind helping me, young boy?"
As the morning passed with the two of them trying to make breakfast, Lauren had an idea of how they could wake her wife up. Setting the table and getting a bunch of roses from the vase, Lauren took one and put it on Camila's usual seat. "Go wake up mama, Jake. But slowly. Remember that mama is grumpy in the morning." Lauren explained carefully.
Nodding obediently, Jacob ran over to Camila's room to wake her up. To his surprise, Camila was nowhere to be found anymore. The bed was neatly fixed, her phone not being on the side table anymore. Growing confused, Jacob ran back to Lauren who was patiently waiting in the kitchen.
"Mama's not there." Jacob pouted sadly, confusion etched all over his face as his doubts overcome the excitement he had beforehand.
"What do you mean mama's not there?" Lauren asked in confusion as she barely heard anyone leave the home earlier that morning.
"Mama not in the room anymore, mami." Jacob repeated.
Wanting to surely see for herself, Lauren walked towards their old bedroom, noticing that her wife's phone wasn't in the usual place anymore. The bed was neatly fixed, with all her things properly arranged just like Camila always wanted. Putting her hand on Camila's side of the bed for good measure, the bed was indeed cold. Much like no one seemed to have been on it for the last couple few hours, signaling that Camila had been long gone of the house.
