A/n: No proofreading done here, kids. Wrote this straight from my (weirdly structured) mind. Don't expect another chapter up tonight, too. But who knows, maybe tomorrow? HEHE I love you crazy readers! Read, comment, vote and spam me with luuuv.
Exhausting herself in the attempt to be the best temporary parent she could be, Lauren had spent the entire evening ensuring that the needs of the young boy was met. She went as far as having to go minute shopping in Walmart for supplies and extra clothing for Jacob, making sure that the boy had enough to last him until whenever. That was the same night that she found herself silently sobbing in tears on her couch, thankful that even though she's practically missed almost half of the young boy's life, she still had a chance to make this right.
Falling asleep in her own bedroom, Lauren was certain she hadn't slept that happy in a long time. The mixture of emotions hit her as strong as a truck would have, making every possible feeling plausible to run through her veins. She felt joyful that Jacob had sought for her, but at the same time upset knowing that this little stint would probably end sooner than she ever would expect.
Waking up the next morning, Lauren felt a huge weight that was lying over her. Wiping her eyes to rub the sleep off of it, the raven-haired girl was surprised to find her son snuggled up to her in bed. Afraid of making great movement to disturb the sleeping boy, Lauren decided to keep at her position and stare at the features of the young one next to her. Examining him closely, she had confirmed that almost all of his features resemble that of Camila's. The young boy's nose, his doe-like brown eyes, and the way he slept was exactly like how the brunette cuddled up to her back when they were married. Thinking that it would be too late to cry over spoiled milk, Lauren decided to let the thought of her ex-wife go and focus on the boy that she had loved so dearly.
Just a few moments later however, a sound of a buzzing phone had strayed her away from her thoughts, startling the young boy and making him respond to the sound out of habit. Pulling the phone out with his eyes half-closed, Jacob moved the phone over to his ear instinctively.
"Mami?" The young boy cooed, reflexively picking up the phone.
"Where the hell are you, Jacob?! I told you that you didn't need to leave. I love you." Camila hurriedly said over the phone.
"Lauren, mami. I found Lauren Jauregui!" Jacob excitedly said over the phone.
"What did I say about this foolishness, Jake? Didn't I tell you to let it go?" Camila scolded the young boy, remembering all those times she turned down any attempt of the young boy to ask about who the raven-haired girl was to them.
"Mami, I'm in her house! She's really nice. I met people like Dinah and Nor- something like that! I met them and they told me I was you and Lauren's child!" The boy said raising his voice, hoping to make his point become valid.
"What did I tell you Jake? Daddy wants you to come home now." Camila more firmly said.
"He only wants me home so he can punch me for disobeying you." Jacob spat angrily.
"Let me handle it." Lauren butt in hesitantly but decided that she's already heard enough.
"Camz." Lauren said as she took the phone from the young boy, Jacob leaning much closer to Lauren now than he previously was. Unexpectedly uttering her usual pet name for her ex-wife, taken aback by the knowledge that she had to deal with the person she hasn't heard of for the longest time.
"Lauren?!" Camila said almost instantaneously.
"I don't appreciate you tolerating this kind of behavior, Lauren. Mark has been worried about him for the past week! It's been 11 days. Bring him home to me." Camila demanded.
