"We may be looking at memory loss, a brain injury or even worse, an indefinite comatose." Was the last thing the brunette was sure she heard clearly before she zoned out. Everything after hearing how badly hurt Lauren was when she was admitted to the hospital, the brunette slowly felt her world falling apart. She was just beginning to get Lauren back. Somehow fate decided to play a trick on them, and she was at the brink of losing Lauren once again.
When she was brought in at around 9 in the morning, we had to pry her arms out of the younger one. She was close to coding, her lips were pale blue but her grip was firm and very protective of the younger child. It seemed that her heartrate was slowly depleting when we took the young girl from her hold, that it felt like she only lived through the days to protect her. It was scary for us to see the amount of blood that stained her clothing. We immediately admitted her to the operating room. After 32 long stitches through her thigh and a huge cut through her left temple, we were uncertain if she was going to make it. All of us were horrified. But despite her survival, we should not quite be at ease yet. We may be looking at memory loss, a brain injury, or even worse, an indefinite comatose until God knows when. I'm so sorry." The nurse utters with her head bowed down as she told the ladies in the room what transpired earlier that day.
It has already been three days and the brunette not even once left Lauren's side in case the raven-haired girl woke up. She was afraid of losing time with Lauren, so every moment she got, the woman happily took the opportunity to stay in and be with Lauren.
At that point Jacob was a sobbing mess perched on a stool beside Lauren. He held her as if she was going to break, his tears endlessly escaping his eyes in fear of losing his best friend. It hadn't even been long since he reunited with her, but with the time they had together, Jacob was unsure where he would go from this. His mama was strong, she was brave. But at that moment, he was not quite sure anymore.
Encompassing Mica in the tightest hug possible, even without knowing the whole thing that happened during those days, Camila could feel Lauren in the room. She could feel how she made sure Mica was safe, and each second she spent wrapping her arms around the youngster, it was Lauren's body heat that she was feeling, as if Mica was Lauren.
That was until she felt something on the pocket of Mica's hospital suit. Carefully putting her hands inside the small pocket to see what was inside, shock overtook her as she saw the thing.
A silver piece of chain with a something rather familiar loop connected to it.
Their wedding ring. But looking at the engraving in it, she knew that it was hers. The ring that belonged to her.
Looking through the room to gaze at the other girls who looked at her in the same way she had looked at the ring. Surprise, shock, and everything relatable to that.
Lightly nudging the little girl on her lap, Camila slowly tried to put the question out there for the little girl to ponder on, unsure if she were to get answers especially after a traumatic situation.
"Mics, what is this?" Camila subtly asked the little girl, aware that Dinah and Normani's eyes were all on the two of them.
Shrugging before responding, Mica grabbed the silver chain from Camila and held it close to her chest. "I-it was n-night and I was s-s-s-scared. Daddy was telling the girl to kill Lawen already so I went to her and hugged her because I liked her. I did not like her to die. But daddy didn't see me."
Humming for her to continue, Camila was utterly confused as to where this story was heading to. Their divorce was seven long years ago. Hell, she didn't even remember that she gave the ring back to Lauren.
