A/n: Ya'll asked for it :)
It has been a month since Lauren had left the house and Camila was already struggling to get things running for her home. All those years that they were married, Lauren had managed to take care of all the bills, maintenance and all the other necessities in their home. Now living alone with a 5-year old, Camila barely has things under control. Financially, she had nothing to worry about at all. Lauren had already paid the house in full even before they had settled in. However, running the household was much harder when you had a five-year old at home and that's all the help you're ever gonna get.
"Jacob can you stop it? I'm working!" Camila angrily scolded her son that was currently running around the house with a toy car in his hand.
"Sorry, mama." The boy shyly responded as she left the room to play somewhere else. Being a kid, the little boy had little to no understanding of the kind of silence Camila had needed whenever she was working on her laptop. It had always been Lauren to play with him while Camila was working, ensuring that the little boy got out of the way when the brunette needed her personal space.
Not too long after a knock on the door was heard, and the little boy had to run in back to Camila's room to tell her that someone was at the door. Walking over to Camila, Jacob carefully poked her side to catch her attention. "Mama, someone's at the door but mami said to never open the door without a grown-up."
Huffing, Camila stood up and walked over to the door. Seeing that it was Mark who had come to visit, the brunette immediately landed in his arms. "You're here!" Camila happily uttered.
"Yeah I am. You have no idea how much I missed you, Cammie." Looking at the little boy that was watching the interaction between the two, Mark had knelt over to the boy to greet him as well. To his surprise however, the little boy completely ignored his existence in their household. "Hey, Jakey. Want to play?"
"Don't call me Jakey, you're not my mami." The boy said as he threw a tantrum and started to retreat back to his bedroom.
"What's his problem?!" Mark angrily asked Camila.
"Only Lauren calls him Jakey, babe. And it's been almost a month since she last saw him. Probably some kind of tantrum over Lauren's absence or something." Camila sighed. After the little boy's unexpected trip to Lauren's office, the brunette ended up finding out about it and getting angry at Dinah for talking Jacob to Lauren. She didn't understand why Dinah had to bring them together, when she for one knew how Camila didn't want the little boy to see Lauren as his mother-figure anymore.
"So, what are we doing tonight?" Mark said suggestively with a smirk on his face.
"I'm feeling sick babe. It's been a tough week." Camila grumpily replied.
"Okay, fine. How about we cuddle in tonight? Lauren left you with such a nice house, I don't see why we shouldn't make the most out of it." Mark uttered still as playfully.
"Don't you want to move out and find another place if you decide to move in? The kid associates this place with Lauren. If we move him somewhere else, Jacob might then realize that you're going to be his father figure from here." Camila sighed in exasperation. For one, the house was obviously too big to maintain on her own. Although Mark often came to visit, it was still her obligation to keep things running in the home. Second, the brunette was already getting tired of how Jacob had been at his worst behavior lately.
Falling asleep that night in Mark's arms, Camila was barely able to realize that her son had been crying his eyes out through the night. The thought of Mark in his mom's bedroom terrified him to his bones, when usually it was just him, Lauren and Camila that occupied the house. Causing the young one to lose some sleep overnight, the little boy was exhausted come the morning. Having to head to playschool, Jacob was very tired and unwilling to cooperate throughout the morning. Mark hadn't noticed that when he drove the boy to school though. It being his first time to take Jacob somewhere, he just assumed that the boy loved to sleep in the car in the morning.
