After a successful shopping afternoon which ended in a couple of shopping bags filled with clothing for Camila, Jacob, Mica and the unborn baby, Lauren was more than happy to have spent a good amount of cash for the family that she's always envisioned to have. Noticing that her ex-wife was beginning to get tired, Lauren did the ideal family thing to do after a long day, spending the earlier part of the evening on treating the three to Camila's favorite pizza place.

"Jake, can you hold Mica and get a table ahead? Mami and I need to slow down a little bit." Lauren uttered, calling the attention of the young boy.

Agreeing without question, Jacob gladly held the little one's hand, heading off to the direction of the restaurant as she knelt in front of the brunette to check on her ex-wife's slowly aching legs.

"Your thighs aren't that swollen, Mila. It's probably just because of the exhaustion you're feeling." Lauren clarified, standing to hold out a hand and put it on the brunette's lower back, slowly rubbing soothing circles onto the skin to relax the younger one.

"What?" Camila said as she chuckled, slowly hiding the flustered state she was in because of how gentle Lauren was with her, which exactly resembled the way the raven-haired girl was back then when she was pregnant with Jacob.

"I just checked your legs for any sign of swelling, don't worry. It doesn't necessarily mean that I'm checking you out, even though you're absolutely stunning to me." Lauren said with a small smile plastered on her face.

Hitting Lauren's shoulder playfully in response, Camila grinned at the raven-haired girl to silently thank her for her concern. She didn't have to do all those things for the brunette really, and even after what Camila did to her, it still comes to a surprise to her how Lauren has still been all this time.

"So, does today just make you even more excited for the baby? I mean looking at how you were casually walking through those aisles of baby stuff, you looked really ecstatic." Lauren said, unintentionally thinking out loud.

"It's always been real to me. It's just... Different? You know, how I still am adjusting with not having to pretend that I wasn't feeling anything." The brunette confessed shamefully, the expression not coming amiss to Lauren.

"Hey, today's a great day. He's probably locked up in jail and I intend to keep it that way. How about we head down to the restaurant where two of your children are sure to be excitedly waiting." Lauren joked as she continued walking, her left arm still laid on the brunette's lower back to support her as they walked.

Arriving at the restaurant where the kids were seated, Lauren found Jacob deep in thought as she helped Camila sit on the opposite side of the booth, having one kid seated beside her as the brunette sat beside Mica. Minutes after being able to choose what to order and calling the waitress on, Lauren decided to break the silence and start a conversation despite having two unusually quiet kids on the table.

"What's causing the silence? Did you and Mica fight?" Lauren asked the twelve year old noticing sadness take over his face.

"No, mama. It's just that we're taking them home to aunt Dinah's right? I just didn't want to be away from mami and Mica." Jacob confessed as he gazed at the younger one who was silently coloring on the children's table mat.

"Do you want to stay with them first babe?" Lauren asked the young boy calmly, not insinuating anything more than a general question.

"But that would mean that you would be alone. I don't want that too." The boy responded sadly, tucking his face in the space between Lauren's shoulders and neck.
