A/n: What kind of author would I be if I left you guys with only one update, right? Here's some good old Jacob and Lauren moment. :)
Finding their way out to cross the street heading to the restaurant, Dinah caught sight of a young boy seated on the sidewalk. Elbowing Normani once again, the Polynesian pointed towards the direction of where the young boy was seated.
"I'm not sure that's him, Dinah. The last time I saw him he was 7." Normani said confusedly.
"There's only one way to find out." The Polynesian said, standing up to walk over to where the boy was seated.
"Jacob?" Dinah called out.
"You know me?" The little boy looked at Dinah, with fear written all over him and tear stains on his eyes.
"Mani! He's definitely Lauren's." Dinah said, looking over to Normani who stood a few steps behind her.
"Wait, you know Lauren? As in Lauren Jauregui?" The boy said in a mixture of surprise and shock.
"Apparently, I know who you are too, young man. Jacob Michael Cabello-Jauregui." Dinah said proudly, pulling her arms out for Jacob to take.
Rushing to her, the boy wrapped his arms around Dinah and sobbed fearfully. "Please help me." The boy said, mumbling the words on Dinah's chest.
"I'm Dinah, she's Normani. We're Lauren's best friends." The Polynesian carefully explained.
"Can you help me? I'm so confused, I ran away." The boy explained as tears kept pooling through the doe-like eyes."
"How about we have lunch and I take you to Lauren. Don't worry, you can trust us." Dinah said as she held out a napkin to wipe the young boy's eyes.
Walking over to hold her hand out for the young boy to take, Dinah had carefully led Jacob to the restaurant with Normani.
"Excuse me, Dinah. I can't eat." The young boy sighed.
"Why? Are you sick?!" Normani said, feeling the boy's forehead for any sign of fever.
"No, I just don't have money. I ran away from LA. I spent all my money on the bus to get here." The boy explained.
"How did you know where to find Lauren?" Dinah asked curiously as he led the young boy to the booth, completely ignoring the younger one's plight.
"I saw her on TV. The launch of MarketOne. She mentioned that she had a son, and I've always thought that my daddy doesn't love me because he says he just adopted me. I have these pictures that I found from the basement of my house. It has her on it. I'm so scared, I searched her on google." The boy explained.
"What's the name of your daddy, Jacob?" The two asked in Unison, giving each other a soft stare after asking.
"Mark Peterson."
Confirming their suspicions, Normani had immediately took her phone out of her pocket to dial Lauren's number. Picking up after three rings, a startled Normani had a hold of Lauren.
"Lauren Jauregui." Lauren said as she answered the call.
"Free off your afternoon. I need to talk to you." Normani said insistently, not even bothering to ask.
"I can't Mani, I-" Lauren tried to reason but was cut-off when Normani reasoned with her in the only way she knew.
"It's about Jacob." Normani said hurriedly.
"What about him?!" Lauren worriedly responded, her mind once again driving into overdrive.
"Just meet me in the office at 1:30. Dinah and I have something to tell you."
