When Lauren woke up, all that she wanted was to have the brunette close to her. All those times she spent without the brunette felt suffocating, and frankly without the brunette's daughter around, she was pretty sure herself that she wouldn't have lived that long in such a hostile environment. It was all because of the lingering thought of wanting to have that second chance she's dreamed of having with Camila, and how bad she wanted to be that person that was going to stick with her through those times that kept Lauren alive. It was the little girl who was ever so frightened that she chose to fight after all.

Arriving at the hospital room later that day, Dinah was surprised to see Lauren awake, holding her best friend ever so close as Camila's body was partially laying on the bed, kept close by Lauren's arms that had surrounded her.

"Am I interrupting a family moment?" The Polynesian joked as she made her way through the room, looking to the bed next to Lauren's to find the two kids sleeping soundly in each other's arms.

Lauren took the remaining strength in her to toss the pillow at the woman, the item ended smacking the Polynesian's face quite hard. "Dumbass, get here. I think I deserve some love." Lauren joked as she grinned at the woman, who in no time made her way to Lauren to enclose her in a bone-breaking hug, as if the raven-haired girl's body was not fragile at the moment.

"Careful!" Camila warned in a worried tone, causing the two to stir awake and look at their Mami.

"Camz, I think you just woke them up." Lauren chuckled as she tried to gaze over to the bed right beside hers, but was stopped when pain rushed through her side upon moving.

"Mama?!" The two kids shot instantaneously as they both rushed to get up and scoot over to the bed in excitement and happiness. Mica being too ecstatic to care, claiming the raven-haired girl as her mama just like how Jacob did.

"You were cool Lern! Teach me how to climb windows like that!" The little girl uttered in excitement, lifting herself up the bed in her attempt to lie over Lauren's stomach as the new nickname rolled off her mouth, but was immediately stopped by a set of arms that restrained her from going any further.

"Hold on, babe. Lauren's not feeling well yet. You told me, remember? You said she had ouchies." Camila cooed at her daughter who looked at her with the most adorable doe-like eyes.

At that moment Lauren tensed a little bit, afraid of what the little girl might have told her mama. "Wait, what did this one here tell you?"

"It was nothing but the vague stuff. All I know is that she thinks you're a superhero, which I sort of agree to by now." Camila chuckled as her grip on Lauren's hand became tighter, her warmth radiating the other woman as the contact was further established.

"Mama! I was a brave boy for you! I took care of mama and the baby!" Jacob proudly uttered as he looked at his mama's eves ever-so-sweetly.

"That's my boy." Lauren proudly uttered as she looked up to meet Jacob's eyes, holding her hand out to get close to the little boy, ruffling his hair in her hands as she looked at Camila worriedly. "Good job babe."

"Wait, I know you're all excited, but mami comes in first this time." Lauren said apologetically as she ignored all the outside forces and just kept her gaze on the brunette who was sitting on a stool right next to her bed.

"How have you been? Isn't the seat hurting your back? And why are you here? Shouldn't be resting at home with the puppy?" Lauren mumbled as the questions kept rolling in, the worried expression not leaving her face as she looked at her ex-wife.

"Laur..." Camila uttered to halt the panic talking from Lauren's end.

"C'mon, Camila. I've been in this bed for God knows how long. Of course I'd have questions. Especially when it comes to you and little bug." Lauren said with a small smile on her face, using the term Camila had used when the brunette had been talking to what she knew was Lauren's weak figure that was conscious enough to listen to the conversation.
