Five. Five years of being alone had passed, and Lauren was the first woman multi-millionaire in the market. Things have completely gone a 360 for the raven-haired girl, her lifestyle undergoing a major change in the past years of trying to find her way back to herself. With the constant presence of Normani and Dinah in her life, Lauren had a balance of work and her social life. The two always tried to get the workaholic out of her work station to have some fun, always ending in needing Lucy's help to get Lauren on her feet.
It took almost another year and a half before Lauren was back on her feet, really. It took them so much nights of finding the raven-haired girl wasted in bars crying her life away, but luckily Normani was always able to come and to the rescue whenever Lauren had been caught up in her emotions.
The raven-haired girl had completely brushed off the topic on Camila, seemingly being fine even when the brunette gets brought up in casual conversations. Lucy had still been very lowkey of her feelings for the woman, feeling that it wasn't right to take advantage of the raven-haired girl's vulnerability. She had a good way of being able to keep things casual between the two, and only reciprocated when Lauren would have initiated a subtly sweet gesture.
With her popularity approaching her head on at a rather quick speed, Lauren had to do interviews for big media corporations. Being one of the youngest businesswomen at 36, Lauren had everything at the tip of her finger. At some point the world seemed to have revolved around her, and she was lucky enough to know how to keep herself grounded amidst the fame.
Finding herself in bed one morning, Lauren instinctively pulled out her phone to text the Colombian she had learned to love through the years. Lucy has been the anchor that kept Lauren held down through her dark days, ending in the green-eyed girl feeling infatuated at the thought of Lucy's presence in her life. However with her not wanting Lucy to feel like her rebound, Lauren decided to take things slowly between the two. Relatively slow that was.
Lauren: I just woke up. Is it bad that I need u with me now?
Finding the guts to finally send the text to Lucy, her phone happened to have buzzed not even a few minutes later.
Vives: Open your bedroom door, Jauregui. I think breakfast is served.
Feeling overexcited, Lauren shot from bed to race to her bedroom door. Excitedly expecting, Lauren had found Lucy standing beside her apartment's kitchen with a tray in her hands, a huge smile pasted on the face of the other girl. Stunned at the sight that first greeted her in the morning, Lauren lunged to hug Lucy from behind.
"How the hell did you get in here?!" Lauren excitedly asked, nuzzling her face into the space between the Colombian's shoulders and neck.
"You gave me a key, dumbass. You said it was for emergencies, remember?" Lucy chuckled in response.
"So, what's the emergency here?" Lauren bantered happily, her arms still tightly held around Lucy's waist.
"You'll die of hunger. We don't want to lose the world's greatest businesswoman at 36 right?" The woman bantered back. "Get off of me, Laur! Can we just eat?"
"Can we eat while I'm snuggled around you? You're warm." Lauren pleaded, now facing the woman with the cutest face she could muster.
"Only you, Jauregui." Lucy grinned as she led Lauren to the couch nearby.
In the midst of happily bantering while having breakfast, Lauren found herself snuggling with Lucy the entire morning. It had been rare for the raven-haired girl to have days off too. So to have the whole morning free, Lauren was more than happy to have the time off. For the longest time the two have been flirty with each other, but never decided to progress their relationship to the next level. Sharing short hugs were the most the two had been up to, going on dates like normal budding couples would have done. Lucy however wanted to keep things to keep things like this, knowing how Lauren was so afraid of commitment after what happened with Camila so many years back. Aside from the constant fear she had deep within her, the raven-haired girl was just not ready to replace her wife just yet.
