A/n: Shoutout to @heavenlynight and @httpcamrenotp for making me want to post this tonight. Ya'll are freaking spoiled children. Have a great new year, delusionals!

"It's about Camila. She's potentially in danger." Lauren cried worriedly over the phone as she told her worries to her ex-wife's best friend.

"I thought you were through with her?" The woman asked curiously.

"I thought I was too. But hearing it all from Jake, I need to do something. Being a wife may have ended, but being a decent human being with concern for the lives of people never stops." Lauren said as she replied to Dinah probably just as worried as the raven-haired girl was.

"What did Jacob say exactly?"

"He told me about Mark mistreating Camila for being pregnant with a baby girl when he wanted a boy." Lauren told Dinah frustratingly, angry at the ungrateful bastard that her ex-wife chose over her.

"What do you have in mind, Jauregui?" Dinah asked inquisitively.

"I'm a Jauregui. Not to mention how powerful my name is in the industry. I can fucking fly my way to LA this very moment and have that bastard arrested for assault." Lauren impatiently huffed on the phone, definitely angered by the thought of Camila being hurt.

"One question." The Polynesian uttered.

"Shoot me."

"Why are you doing this? Are you doing this for her, or for you?" The Polynesian confirmed, obviously imploring on Lauren's motive for wanting to help.

"I'm doing this because this is the only time my son has ever asked anything from me. His eyes, Dinah. They scream sadness and wanting help. His eyes are exactly just like Camila's. You know that. I can't turn down my son when all he wants me to do is save his mother from death." Lauren explained patiently, understanding that Dinah of all people knew her suppressed feelings for the brunette.

"But, what about Lucy?" The Polynesian asked suggestively.

"Lucy is a friend, Dinah. We are talking about my wi-" Lauren uttered but paused upon realizing what she just said. "We are talking about my ex-wife. The mother of the sleeping boy in my living room. The person I vowed to love for better or for worse, 'til death do us part."

"Laur..." Dinah uttered under her breath, knowing how painful it must have been to have let go of her wife years and years ago.

"Look, Dinah. I'm not asking for your approval. You can say no to helping me save her for all I care, but I'm not gonna mope here and just wait for the papers to say that Camila had died because she was beaten to death by the man she calls her husband. She may have broken the vows with me, but I do not recall a single moment when I broke mine to her." Lauren sternly said.

"And then what, act like nothing happened? Like those 5 years never existed?!" Dinah said huffing, raising her voice to emphasize her point to Lauren.

"I'm not fucking dumb to let her back into my life just like that, Dinah. She hurt me. For all I know she might not even know my favorite color anymore. For all I care, I can get her an apartment until she's back on her feet, has given birth to the child and is able to fend for herself. I'm doing this as a friend. A mother who cares about their son, a person who is undeniably still fucking in love with their ex-wife but is decent enough to set it aside!" Lauren huffed with exasperation through the line, wanting Dinah to let it go and just understand her motive for wanting to help.

"But that would be confusing Jacob..." Dinah uttered in hesitation.

"So I cater to his confusion over my ex-wife's life? Are you dumb, Dinah? Confusion occurs for the lack of answers. Death however, can never be justified no matter what answer they fucking come at me. I'm saving her, and I'm starting it right now." Lauren angrily bantered, annoyed that Camila's best friend seemed to not have grasped the point.
