"That baker girl made an excellent choice. Now, here's your schedule for modeling. You've missed an entire week, and now we have to get back on track," Gabriel explained, handing Adrien a paper.
The blonde boy grumpily swiped to grab it, almost wrinkling it with the grip of his hands. Gabriel blinked slowly in surprise at his attitude.
"First thing we must do, is get you back on your diet, then get you back to working out. I had Nathalie call a trainer to help you lose the excess weight you gained at the baker girl's house. You will begin promptly in fifteen minutes, so change out of this cheap garment and into your physical attire."
Gabriel walked out of the room, leaving Adrien to glare at the door he left through. Why did he even come back? His father took him back for breaking up with Marinette after disowning him. What did he even say to her to make her say it so easily?
Marinette waited until Adrien got his food, then paid. It wasn't until then that she broke up with him. The way she told him was so unlike her. She just got up and walked away emotionlessly.
Yet she was smiling after her talk with his father, so how was she so happy? Was she faking that smile? Marinette was always so genuine. How could she just do that?
When they first got there, they were joking and playing around like usual. Marinette was being her sweet self.

Just thinking about her made his stomach churn, his heart ache, and his eyes want to water. He missed her so much already, and knew she probably wouldn't come back. Marinette was his best friend, his girlfriend, and everything to him. They'd only spent a little over a week together, yet it felt like they had been together forever.
He debated actually returning to his father after that whole scene, but in the end, he came. What didn't surprise him what that his father didn't even seem apologetic or ashamed of anything he'd told his own son.
Adrien made his way up the stairs, accidentally running into the irritated blonde. "Oh, Adrien! Why did you let Marinette listen to Gabriel? He's always been a butthead, but she doesn't know that! Marinette thinks he's your somewhat loving father, and she thought she was making the right choice! I would've said something myself, but I saw her quickly leave with you. I thought she decided not to listen!" Chloe whisper-shouted, almost angrily.
"What are you talking about? How did you know about Marinette and my father's discussion?" Adrien asked, his green eyes widened in surprise. Why did she suddenly care about Marinette and saving his love life? High school was definitely proof that she didn't give a single care that way back then, but now was a different story.
"I was one room away, ding-dong. These walls aren't very thick," Chloe raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms.
"Do you know what he told her?" Adrien asked, a large amount of pleading burning into his eyes. He had to know what his father said to Marinette. His sweet Marinette, who left him after talking to him.
