Due to an arranged marriage set up by Gabriel Agreste, Adrien is married to Chloe. He runs away from home, upset that he can't make his own choices.
Marinette is in a relationship with another boy, Fabio Augusguye. Just as the two were going to be...
"What were you thinking, standing out in the rain like this?! You could get sick! Also why... are you bleeding? Did Fabio do this to you?!" Marinette bursted into many questions, and Adrien remained in her embrace, exhaustedly closing his eyes as he sank into her shoulder.
"I wanted to talk to Fabio since he has your sketchbook. The security wouldn't let me in since I had no appointment, so I waited for him to leave his work. I thought maybe if... I had your sketchbook to bring back to you, you might not hate me," Adrien pulled away, looking away shamefully as he mumbled the last part.
"Hate you? Adrien, I could never hate you! It was just that I didn't want to be the reason your father disowned you. He told me that if I broke up with you, your future would be back on track and lead you to success. With or without the sketchbook in my hands, I still love you," Marinette brought one of his trembling hands in her own, kissing the back of it. A blush flooded Adrien's face, and he smiled at her.
"Now let's get out of the rain before we both get sick," the girl suggested, pulling Adrien with her back into the office.
The security guard looked at Marinette questioningly as she let go of Adrien with an innocent smile. "Fabio needed to talk with this guy," she explained. The man sighed, giving a curt nod to let them go up.
The girl smiled thankfully and waved Adrien in her direction as she continued to walk to the elevator. He quickly followed behind her, realizing how stable of a career Fabio seemed to have before stealing Marinette's designs. He obviously didn't need to steal them if he already was so successful, just signifying how selfish he really was to want even more.
Once they stepped out of the elevator, Adrien saw all the glass walls surrounding people's offices, their names written on the door in golden plaques. Once he saw the man's name, his face burned with irritation. He threw the door open to see Fabio smugly sitting at his desk.
Adrien pounded his hands on Fabio's desk, uncaring of the water that dripped from being out in the rain onto his clean desk. After making a mental note to send someone to clean up his puddle, the man looked at Adrien with a cocked eyebrow.
"Give Marinette her sketchbook and credit! She's worked so hard on all that, and you took it from her like it was all your own!" Adrien yelled.

"Wow, looks like Daddy's boy isn't doing too well. Did he kick you out again?" Fabio mockingly sympathized.
"Fabio!" Marinette sneered.
"You are a disgusting creature!" Adrien yelled to Fabio.
He lifted his pen from a document he was signing to point it at Adrien, "Says the angry little man green with envy, throwing his wet fists on my clean desk."
