"R-Really? You'll give me my... sketchbook without any..." Marinette asked, completely taken aback by his change of heart. How could he have just changed? Did he truly change?

Fabio bit his lip, looking down with shame. It took him a moment to reply, but he spoke, "I'm sorry. I've been such a jerk to you, and I... I care about you. You deserve so much better than me," he said the last part, his heart weighing as if it were carrying boulders. "You don't have to marry me if you want your things back."

Marinette's eyes filled with tears of appreciation, and she wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you," She whispered, her eyes squeezing shut. He hugged her back, hesitantly at first, then with gratitude. "Not just for agreeing to give me my things back, but for being yourself again. I missed you," The girl added with a smile.

"I missed you too, Marinette," he mumbled, almost tearfully. Fabio pulled away, looking at her blue eyes. "I understand if you didn't want to, but... could we possibly be friends again?" He asked, a nervous smile crossing his expression.

She blinked slowly in surprise, then let her gentle smile return to her face. "Of course," Marinette agreed, letting her eyes fall to his warm brown ones, which seemed so cold not so long ago.

"Now let's fix everything," Fabio took a deep breath, allowing himself to genuinely smile for once. Marinette followed him back to his office, and noticed that Adrien sat there forlornly.

"Hey," she greeted the blonde cheerfully, placing her hand on his shoulder in attempts to brighten his mood.

"So... here it is," Fabio bashfully held her sketchbook out to her.

"Thanks again," Marinette reached out to take it from him. She halfway expected him to yank it away once her fingers grazed the cover, but that moment never came. His grip loosened, then let go when she softly pulled it to herself.

"About the publicity," Fabio laughed nervously, "That's going to die out soon once I tell everyone that the slander about Adrien Agreste was fake, and that you're the real designer."

Marinette looked down awkwardly, realizing how much crap Fabio was going to get after revealing the truth. Even though he gave her vexation, she didn't want to wish such a terrible fate upon him. She was a decent human being after all.

An idea came to her, and she brightened up, "I can help you! Even though you're still going to have to come clean about slandering Adrien, I can help you out with the design part!"

Adrien looked at her with confusion. "Marinette, this guy broke your heart, stole your designs, and you still want to help him out?" He asked, glaring at Fabio.

The man resisted the temptation to glare back at Adrien, being that he still disliked the blonde. Instead, he forced a smile. It was terrible, indeed, but it wasn't any worse than a glare.

Marinette turned to Adrien, "I broke your heart, and you forgave me. Everyone deserves a second chance. Look at Chloe, she's a better person now! No one deserves humiliation, Adrien."

"You're different. My father forced you to! I mean, you're right about Chloe, but Fabio humiliated me! My reputation was trashed and I was glared at by every single person in the crowd outside!!" Adrien argued.

"I'm really sorry about that," Fabio pushed his apology, even though the blonde was arguing against him.

"That was still my choice! I made a terrible decision to break up with you, and your father was just being terribly persuasive. And... I didn't know that, Adrien. I'll make sure another person doesn't look at you like that ever again," Marinette raised a threatening fist with a small giggle. Her antics immediately softened his anger, and he looked to her with a small smile.
