Chapter twenty one:

*1 week later*

Abby's p.o.v.

Today marks one week of me being home from the hospital, and it feels great. Also today I get to go back to school, which is somewhere where I haven't been in over a week. I decided to wear a skirt with leggings, a tank top, a loose fitting sweater and a pair of flats. I also decided that it would be a good day to straighten my hair, and limit the amount of makeup that I put on my face, now that the scars are gone for good. After I was done getting ready I went downstairs with my school bag and sat down at the kitchen table.

"Good morning Abby," Stephen said, as he joined me at the table.

"Good morning Stephen," I said.

"How does it feel to be going back to school?" He asked.

"Amazing." I said. Our parents made us pancakes to eat before we left to go to school.

"You look beautiful today," my mom said.

"Thanks," I said.

"You're welcome." She said. After Stephen, Daniel and I were done eating breakfast we were on our way to school. I have to admit that it feels great to be able to go back to school. As soon as we got to school, we went inside and parted ways, that way I could go to my locker and meet up with Emma and Steve and we could walk to our first period class together.

"Abby!" Someone yelled.

"Emma!" I yelled. We gave each other a big hug.

"I missed you last week," she said.

"I missed you too," I said.

"So how are you feeling?" She asked.

"I feel much more alive and much more free and I'm now one hundred percent better according to the doctors and the nurses," I said.

"That's amazing to hear," she said.

"Yes it feels good to be able to eat the kinds of food that I want to," I said.

"So would you like to go to the mall this Friday?" She asked.

"I'd love to," I said, and asked, "would you like to sleep over Friday night?"

"I'd love to sleepover friday night," She said.

"Wonderful." I said.

After we were done talking, we were on our way to class. As soon as we got to our English class we walked inside.

"Hello Abby and welcome back," mrs Dawson said.

"Hello mrs Dawson," I said.

"I have some good news, you didn't miss much of anything at all so don't worry about catching up," she said.

"Oh okay thank you," I said.

"You're welcome." She said. I went to the back of the room and sat down between Emma and Steve.

"Abby you look beautiful today," Steve said.

"Thanks Steve and you look handsome today," I said.

"You're welcome Abby and thanks," he said.

"You're welcome," I said.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"A hundred percent better and much more alive and free," I said.

"That's good, I missed seeing you everyday last week," he said.

"I missed seeing you as well last week." I said.
