Chapter twenty four:

Abby's p.o.v.

Today's the day that I'm going to Steve's and I'm real excited. I just finished getting ready and packing my bag, and now I'm heading back downstairs to the kitchen.

"You look beautiful sweetheart," my mom said.

"Thanks mom," I said.

"So how are you feeling about all of this?" She asked, referring to me spending the weekend with Steve at his house.

"I'm excited but also a bit nervous," I said.

"Don't be nervous, you'll be fine," she said.

"I know it's just that it's my first time staying at a guys house," I said.

"Which I understand," she said, then asked me, "what would you like to eat for breakfast?"

"Hmm, I was thinking about waffles," I said.

"Okay." She said. I sat down at the table and waited for everyone else to come downstairs. A few minutes later everyone came downstairs and sat down at the kitchen table with me.

"You look beautiful Abby ," they said.

"Thanks," I said.

"You're welcome," Daniel said.

"How are you feeling about today?" Stephen asked.

"Excited but also nervous," I said.

"It'll be fine besides you'll be with Steve," Emma said.

"I know but it's my first time spending the night with a guy at his house," I said.

"It'll be all right you'll see," Hanna said.

"Okay." I said. After we ate breakfast my parents along Stephen and Daniel had to leave. Before they left they said bye to me and hugged me tight and also reminded me to lock the door before I left. At about 11:30 my friends and I left the house. They were dropping me off at Steve's house before they went home that way they would know that I arrived safely. Once we got to his house I said bye to my friends and walked up to the front door with my things and rang the doorbell.

The doorbell rang so I went and opened the door.

"Hey Abby," I said when I opened the door.

"Hey Steve," she said as she stepped inside and set her bag down.

"I missed you," I said as I hugged her real tight.

"I missed you too," she said hugging me back just as tight.

"You look beautiful today," I said.

"And you look handsome today," She said.

"Come on I'll show where you'll be sleeping," I said.

"Okay." She said. I held out my hand for her to take and she took it. We got upstairs and I opened up my bedroom door. She set down her bag down by the closet.

"This'll be your bed," I said.

"Isn't it your bed?" She asked.

"Yes it is, but you're my girlfriend and I've decided to give you my bed and I'll sleep on an air mattress for the night," I said.

"Okay." She said. I'll admit that I left my blankets on the bed for her, but I put on fresh pillow cases for her. Besides Abby should be comfortable when she's staying here, after all she is my girlfriend. Before we went back downstairs she decided to change clothes, she changed into a pair of leggings, a tank top and a hoodie. After she was settled in we went back downstairs that way she could meet my parents before they left with my aunt and uncle for their weekend away. After we spoke to my parents the doorbell rang it was my aunt and uncle.

"Hey aunt Marie and uncle Chris," I said.

"Hey Steve," aunt Marie said, then asked, "and who's this pretty young lady?"

"Aunt Marie and uncle Chris, I would like you to meet my girlfriend Abby," I said.

"It's nice to meet you Abby," they both said.

"Thanks it's nice to meet you guys as well," she said.

"So how long have you guys known each other?" My uncle Chris asked.

"Almost two months," I said.

"And how long have you been dating?" He asked.

"Ever since I saved her life," I said.

"Awe that's so sweet," my aunt said.

"Yes he's my hero," Abby said.

"Well that's great to know." My aunt said.

My two younger cousins named Maddie and Anna walked in a few minutes later. Maddie is nine years old and Anna is six years old. They mean a lot to me. Of course when they walked in the two dogs walked in as well. The dogs are named Max and Sandy. Max is six years old and Sandy is four years old. They're the cutest dogs that I know.

A few minutes later my parents and my aunt and uncle were ready to leave, but they had to say bye to us and remind Abby and I to act like the responsible young adults we are and to make sure that Maddie and Anna went to bed at a decent hour and were on their best behaviour. As soon as they were done telling us what to make sure of they were on their way to go and enjoy an amazing weekend away from us. As soon as they left I took Maddie and Anna's things upstairs to the guest bedroom, while Abby decided to make lunch for them. I'm really happy that Abby is here spending this weekend with me, it feels good to know that she wants to help me out when I need the help. I went back downstairs and found Maddie and Anna watching some TV so I walked into the kitchen where Abby was.

Abby's p.o.v.

I'm all settled in at Steve's house. I met his parents, his aunt and uncle and his two younger cousins. His family was really nice and welcoming towards me. Anyways after I made lunch for his cousins Maddie and Anna, Steve and I decided to go outside for a bit with the dogs named Max and Sandy, while Maddie and Anna watched something on TV.

"It's beautiful outside today," I said.

"It may be beautiful outside, but it doesn't compare to your beauty," Steve said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes, you're more beautiful than the weather is today," he said.

"Thanks Steve, that's the nicest thing that a guy has ever said to me," I said.

"You're welcome and don't ever question it or doubt it for a minute because it's the truth." He said, reaching over and brushing a piece of hair out of my eye and tucking it behind my ear. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight.

"Is that my hoodie that you're wearing?" He asked.

"Yes it's the one you gave me on the way to the hospital," I said.

"It looks good with that outfit that you're wearing," he said.

"Thanks," I said.

"You're welcome." He said. There was a nice breeze happening which I loved because it felt so nice. We went back inside about a half hour later because it was getting colder outside. So we took the dogs inside. When we got inside and took off our shoes, we went into the family room and sat down and watched some TV with Maddie and Anna. So far today was turning out to be a real good afternoon and it turns out that I was nervous for nothing.
