My bad life turned good

Chapter twenty five:

"What would everyone like for dinner?" Steve asked.

"Pizza," Maddie and Anna said.

"Oh and a salad," I said.

"Okay pizza and a salad it is," he said.

"Yay," the girls said.

"Abby I'm gonna run to the store to buy the pizza and the salad," he said.

"Okay I'll be here watching the girls," I said.

"Okay bye," he said.

"Bye." We said. Once Steve was gone I walked into the kitchen and was followed by Maddie.

"What're you making?" She asked.

"I'm making a milkshake," I said, than asked, "would you and Anna like one?"

"I would love one," she said, than asked, "hey Anna would you like a milkshake?"

"Yes please!" She yelled from the other room.

"What flavour would you guys like, I can make chocolate, vanilla and strawberry," I said.

"I'll take a chocolate one please," Maddie said than asked, "Anna chocolate, vanilla or strawberry?"

"Chocolate please," she said.

"Okay so I guess I'm gonna be making three chocolate milkshakes," I said.

"I have a question," Maddie said.

"What's your question?" I asked.

"I was wondering how you and my cousin Steve met?" She asked.

"We actually just met a few weeks ago when I was taken in by the Richter family," I said.

"You're related to Daniel and Stephen Richter?" She asked.

"Not by blood," I said.

"Than how?" She asked.

"Well my biological parents passed away when I was ten, than I moved in with my aunt and uncle but my uncle lost his job and my aunt couldn't take care of the both of us so I was taken away by child services and placed with a new family, they were nice at first but than things started to happen, than I was taken in by the head of child services and a week later the Richter came by and asked if they could take me in and that's how I ended up living with the Richter family," I said.

"It sounds like you've had a hard life," she said.

"The first nine and a half years were good, than the past five and a half years were bad and now here I am enjoying my new life and trying to forget about the past," I said.

"You know you're a real strong person, you're my idol now and I hope that my cousin and you stay together forever," she said.

"That's real sweet Maddie and I really do hope that your cousin and I do stay together for a long time, I mean he did save my life," I said.

"How did he save your life?" She asked.

"About two years ago I had cancer and than about two weeks ago it came back while Steve was at my house after school and he stayed by my side that night in case I had to go to the hospital which I did and the whole time I was at the hospital he was by my side," I said.

"Awe that's so cute," she said.

"It really was, it just felt nice to know that someone cared about me to stay with me the whole time while I was at the hospital," I said.
