Chapter three:
A week later I was told that there was another family that wanted to take me in. I wanted to meet them before I agreed to go and live with them.
"When would you like to meet them?" Kim asked me. Kim was the head of child services, along with her husband.
"This afternoon," I said.
"Okay." She said. I'm guessing that she went to go and call them and let them know to come this afternoon. She came back a few minutes later and told me that the new family would be here in ten minutes, I quickly went upstairs to change into a new outfit and did my hair and put on a little bit of makeup to hide my scars that were still visible on my skin.
*ten minutes later*
The doorbell rang about ten minutes later.
"Abby!" Kim yelled.
"Coming!" I yelled. I left my room and started to walk downstairs to the living room.
"Abby I would like you to meet Megan, Rick, Daniel and Stephen Richter the family that would like to take you in," Kim said.
"Hey," I said.
"Hello Abby," they all said.
"When would you guys like to take Abby home?" Kim asked.
"Today," Megan and Rick said.
"Okay, but before you take her home I think we should talk first so that way I know I'm making the right choice," Kim said.
"Okay." Megan said. The three of them walked into Kim's office to go and talk together.

Stephen's p.o.v
My mom, dad, Daniel and I arrived at a house that had a sign on the door that said child services adoption home. My parents wanted to adopt a teen girl and both Daniel and I wanted a younger sister. We got there in the afternoon and rang the doorbell. The lady who answered the door had to be in her early to mid forties, she called down a girl named Abby. The girl who came downstairs and walked into the living room, couldn't be older than sixteen. Abby had wavy light brown hair, pale skin, she was skinny, she was short and she was pretty that's for sure. When our parents went to go and talk with Kim, Daniel and I decided it would be a good chance to get to know Abby.
"So Abby how old are you?" I asked.
"I'm sixteen," she said.
"What's your favourite colour or colours?" I asked.
"Blue, red, green, purple, hot pink and orange," she said.
"How did you end up in this place?" Daniel asked, then added on, "if you don't mind me asking of course," he said.
"I don't mind at all. I ended up here because when I was ten I was in a car crash that killed my parents, I ended up in the hospital. I moved in with my aunt and uncle, but than my uncle lost his job and my aunt wasn't making enough money to be able to take care of me and my uncle. Child services took me away when they found out that my aunt wouldn't be able to care for me, so I ended up being taken to a new house. My first few months at my new home were good. As time went on every time I didn't do something I would get hit or punched. The dad would always abuse me by hitting me, punching me, he punched me out and he once decided to burn my arm. After I kept complaining about what was happening child services came and recused me and brought me back here," she said, as she was telling her story she had tears in her eyes and both Daniel and I were brought to tears as well.
"Oh my gosh that's so terrible," Daniel said, he got up and walked over to Abby and pulled her into a hug which she returned.
"Yea it really hurt, the burning of my arm and punching me out along with the hitting and punching on a daily basis," she said.
"I wouldn't doubt it," I said. I opened my arms and Abby walked into them and hugged me back.
"I know I only met you guys like a half hour ago but I already trust you guys enough that I hope I'll be able to come home with you guys," she said.
"We're hoping that you're able to come home with us as well," Daniel and I said.
"So what do you guys do when you're not busy with school work?" She asked.
"We actually have our own band called eleven past one, I'm the singer, Stephen's the guitarist and back up singer, Kyle Bykiv is the guitarist and sometimes sings in our songs as well, Steve Patenaude is our drummer and Dan Beattie is our bass player," Daniel said.
"You guys must be pretty popular with the girls at school," she said.
"Actually four of us are single, that's us, Steve and Kyle," I said.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yup really," I said.
"So are you and the guys all down to earth?" She asked.
"Yes we are," Daniel said.
"Awesome," she said.
"What's something that you're good at?" I asked.
"Swimming, but," She started then stopped.
"But what?" I asked.
"I haven't been swimming since I was ten," she said.
"Why's that?" I asked.
"Because I was on my way to a swimming competition when my parents and I were in that car crash that killed them," she said.
"Was there another reason?" I asked.
"Yes, I also still have marks on my body from being hit, punched and burnt," She said.
"That explains it," I said.
"Yea." She said. Daniel and Is mom came into the room and told us that Abby was coming home with us. Abby started smiling from ear to ear in happiness about coming home with us, of course both Daniel and I were happy to be getting a sister.
