Chapter 1

Foxstar called Leafheart to his den. Foxstar had just been leader for one moon. He was about to deliver big news to the medicine cat. "I know that you have been requesting an apprentice...." Foxstar started. Leafheart's eyes grew wide in excitement, was she finally going to be a mentor? "So, Goldkit has requested that tomorrow when his apprentice ceremony takes place, he would like to be a medicine cat apprentice!" Foxstar finished. "Thank you! I can't wait to mentor this young cat!" Leafheart replied. She was stunned but very impatient for the next day. She had been medicine cat for many moons and had never had an apprentice. She was close to having Clawkit as an apprentice, but before his apprentice ceremony, a badger attack occurred and the hungry badger made Clawkit his meal.

Dawn fell the next morning. Leafheart had not been able to sleep the night, she had many thoughts running through her mind. The apprentice, the new prophecy and the tribe. Mostly the tribe, she knew that many moons ago, clan cats had met these strangers. They seemed friendly but very different then the clan cats. Leafheart herself had never met a tribe cat. Although strangers, she hoped the best for the unknown cats affected. All she knew about the tribe was that their Starclan, was the tribe of endless hunting.
Goldkit approached high rock, where Foxstar stood. "I now declare Goldkit an apprentice!" Foxstar declared. Meows flew through the air in congratulation.  "You are now Goldpaw!" Foxstar announced. "Gold paw as you wished to be a medicine cat, your mentor will be Leafheart!" Goldpaw looked nervous. Leafheart greeted him with an affectionate lick. "Where do I sleep now?" Asked Goldpaw still stunned by the chaos. "You can sleep in the apprentices den*." Leafheart said. "Come on! We can get some moss for bedding, Goldpaw!" Yelled Pandapaw. "Yeah! Your our friend now!" Screamed Meekopaw. "Settle down apprentices!" Said Meekopaw's mentor, Redpelt. "May I go Leafheart?" Asked the new apprentice. "Of course, just please stay out of trouble!" Leafheart responded. "Ok, thanks!!!" Yelled Goldpaw, running to catch up with the other apprentices. "Foxstar, I forgot to tell you that I have received a new prophecy, from Starclan. I found out two nights ago, when I met with the other medicine cats at the moon pool." Leafheart mentioned to the leader once the apprentices had left. "A new prophecy?" Howls of confusion were shard across the clan. "What is this prophecy dear medicine cat?" Asked Foxstar calmly. "Tribe will lose rule until, leaves fall and red and white fly." Shared Leafheart. The leaders face fell in awe he turned almost pale.

*Note: Usually, medicine cat apprentices sleep in the medicine cat den, but I guess Goldpaw got special permission to sleep in the apprentices den.
