Chapter 2
Leafheart quickly gathered herbs. Pool had told her to gather some. She had no idea why but she did it, since he would probably harm her if she did not listen. She thought about Pool's affection. She still shivered at the thought. She would never ever be affectionate towards him. Plus she was a medicine cat and medicine cats aren't supposed to fall in love. She didn't mind that rule. It didn't bother her.

Once Leafheart was back at the cave, she saw Birdwing, Mosstail, Redpelt and Snow sitting beside each other, eating fresh kill.
"You are allowed to eat?" Leafheart's mouth dropped. Pool never allowed cats to eat very at that time of the day. They only got to eat once a day.
"I told you, if you get on his good side, you get treated nicer then the other cats. Not that I am saying he is nice." Snow whispered in her ear.
"You may eat fresh kill too Leafheart." Pool said. Leafheart now wondered if he was suspicious of their clan names.  She questioned Snow about this.
"I cleared that with him last night. I told him you ran away from your clans but still kept your names." Snow explained.
"I've also told some made up stories to confirm his trust in you." Snow continued.
"I guess I can call myself a traitor and a liar now." Leafheart signed. She never really liked lying.
"It's for the best. Don't worry." Snow consoled.

Leafheart settled down in the evening. She slowly drifted into a sleepy state and soon was sleeping soundly.
"Wait for the right time to help the tribe, don't rush it." A voice echoed. She recognized the voice. It was Flamestar, Thunderclan's previous leader. He appeared after his words. "Am I making the right choices?" Leafheart asked.
"Yes, but the choices you make are your decisions, not Starclan's. Whether we approve or not, you must make your choices be the right ones." Flamestar replied.
She was puzzled. It was logical, but there was something that didn't make sense for her, for whatever reason.
"Can you explain better?" Leafheart pleaded.
Flamestar nodded and continued "Even if Starclan doesn't agree with your choice, you must make it the right choice in your own circumstances. We can only guide you to do what is best. If you regret making the choice, look past it and figure out how to make it work."
Leafheart gazed at the wise leader. He had always been so kind to her.
"Will we be okay? Will we succeed to defeat Pool?" Leafheart questioned.
Before Flamestar answered, he faded away. Leafheart awoke. She wondered if Flamestar truly didn't know the answer or didn't want to worry her. Maybe he didn't tell me to not give away that we will join Starclan soon and fail.
