~ Hideout ~

Albert's POV:

The bell loudly rang for recess as children happily fled out of the classroom, into the playground. I looked at my watch as I ran outside, following a peculiar path down the woods.

I soon quickly found a broken down cabin, dirty on the outside, but smooth and neat on the inside. I quickly went down on my knees and reached for a small and dusty notebook under the seat, flipping to a new and clean page. I giggled childishly as I pulled out my pencil, and began to write.

Day 10

I honestly think this is the best day I had out of all of my days! Today, Jake asked me to be his partner for a science project! He gave me the sweetest smile, and he even touched my elbow! (Omg this is so cheesy). he's also SUPER smart because he got us an A! Jake is sooo sweet and adorable!!

I lightly giggled under my breath, tapping my foot rapidly. I immediately stopped when I heard the sound of crunching footsteps approaching.

"Hello??" Said the voice, getting closer and closer.

The sound soon became familiar.

It was Jake.

I literally held my breath as I slid the notebook beneath the chair, and hid against the corner of a wall where he couldn't see me. I could then feel him inside the cabin, looking around. I peeked out of the corner of my eye, looking at him picking up the notebook. I silently screamed as he opened it up, flipping slowly through the pages.

I'm assuming he began to read them, because his face quickly turned from pale to pink.

"A-Albert?" He stuttered quietly. He looked around the room one last time, as he finally caught my eye. He smiled weakly at me, approaching me slowly. I started to loose my breath the closer he got to me.

As soon as he got to me, I was out of air.

"Is this about me?" He asked silently, smiling softly. I nodded, embarrassingly. I gently took the notebook from his hands and clutched it tightly.

"They're adorable...." he coos, leaning in closer to me. My eyes kept widening, until I heard someone yell at us.

"BOYS?!" I heard my teacher yell.

I panicked.

I grabbed Jake's hand and bolted out of there, taking him with me as far as I could.

When we lost her, I quickly stopped, panting there loudly. I looked at Jake, who was also sweating too.

"Well, now that we lost her..." he says, taking my hand. We sat next to an old tree, leaning against each other.

"S-so how'd you fi-find me here?" I stuttered softly, looking down embarrassingly. "Well" he chuckles, "I saw you running down into the woods, and I was curious to see what you were up to. I then saw you in that cabin writing and I wanted to see what you were writing" he says gently. I smile widely, leaning my head against his shoulder.

Beep!!

The alarm went off on my watch, signaling us to go back to the school. "We have 5 minutes to head back. If we hurry, we can make it" I say as I get up, dusting myself off. I look at Jake as he nods, also getting up. We both quickly ran back to the school.

I stared at the clock as there were only a few small minutes left until freedom is given to us. I smile softly, thinking about Jake. I turned around to look at him, and he playfully winked at me. I childishly turned around, giggling lowly. Soon enough, the bell rang.

I hauled my backpack onto my desk, putting it on my back. I waited for Jake to get ready so we could walk home together.

"'aight, let's go" He says, marching out of the room.

We both exited the school, stopping where we go our separate ways. "Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow Albert." Jake says. I nodded eagerly, my patients slowly fading. Out of nowhere, he quickly kissed my nose and made a run for it. I stood there chuckling, shaking my head and walking back to my house. I eagerly whip out my notebook and pencil and begin to write again..
