Chapter 5: Dark rising

Destruction is raging throughout the city, civilians are running for their lives and they were right to be afraid.

Red fountain students were working closely with the armed forces to try and evacuate the city. They were successful in rescuing the council members although they barely escaped as the ones responsible had nearly destroyed them.

The winx were already on their way but the royal family of Domino were still affected by what had just happened.

"All James ever wanted to be was a hero, is this really where he ends up at? Just like so many others that have come before him?" wondered Bloom.

Just like her sister, Daphne also remembered it clearly.....all those years ago

Past in Domino

During James's very first adventure out of the palace, he had eagerly participated in a battle that was crucial to the war's effort.

He knew that he had played a significant role in the fight but when the fairies showed up, they stole the show.

Once everything was all said and done, he was all but forgotten. The villagers cheered and all James could do was observe. He was there risking his own life as well, it wouldn't be a far stretch to say that he had felt betrayed.

Among the fairies was his sister Daphne, this was.......probably her fifth time in battle but she had already set the standards for her planet.

Politely excusing herself from the villagers who were trying to shower her with praise, she flew towards her brother and she was surprised to see her father there as well.

Oritel soon walked forward and picked up James's silver sword. He then looked at the villagers.

"You hear that James, they're cheering for you" said Oritel.

"..........They're cheering for them" replied James as he glanced at Daphne.

".....Then make it for you" said Oritel as he handed his son's sword back.

"......You're asking for a miracle father, I had already found out the reasons behind my.......event with the fairies and I have to say........I'm gonna puke because of it. Seeing it in person......its far worse than what the books had described. You should know.......you've went through it as well" said James as he walked away.

As Daphne flew towards him, she looked at him with concern.

"I'm sorry" said Daphne.

"My first trip outside of the kingdom, to me it had ended in disaster. You really are privileged Daphne, you got to see the world early because of how significant fairies are. One day I promise.........even if I am consumed by darkness.......I will terminate every fairy in my sight except for you and the best part........no matter how powerful they are they're all no match for me in reality no matter what dimensions they're from. All the lucky girls, yes........girls........girls" said James with anger evident on his face.

Present

"James was already prepared to become a villain, just like Tritannus and I can't hate him for that. But I am so happy and proud that he still chose to stay on the good side despite all that. I just.........why do I have to be a part of his suffering?" wondered Daphne with tears in her eyes.

Unfortunately she didn't have time to think about that for very long because she and the others had soon arrived at their destination.

They could see buildings on fire, people laying on the ground, medics trying to get them to the hospital. It was all chaos.
