It was now lunch hour, students all came running out from their respective classrooms and into the cafeteria. Naturally the mane 6 were sitting together but you wouldn't have known that they were missing a member right now due to the strange circumstances.
Sitting on the table right next to them was Sunset and James. Seeing her friends having fun without her really made Sunset upset, she couldn't eat her lunch or even drink her packet juice so she just pushed it away.
"This is so painful......." said Sunset as her head went down.
"Hang in there......." encouraged James.
"A cafeteria full of suspects, three detectives and one memory stone! Seems impossible but so is pulling a rabbit out of a hat! And I do that all the time! But now, let's talk about motives. Who here hates you enough to erase everyone's good memories of you?" asked Trixie.
"Sigh........if you go back far enough........it's everyone......" said Sunset.
"Alrighty! Known enemies, all!" said Trixie as she wrote it in her notebook.
"That's not helpful....." said James with a sigh.
Later, the trio went to the nurse's office but both the nurse and Bulk biceps clearly had no memories of ever seeing the stone. Later, they went to see Micro chips but he was naturally afraid of Sunset because he still thought that she was the school's bully and ruler.
"Um......will you accept a half chewed carrot stick?" asked Micro chips as he held it.
"What? Ew! I told you before, I don't want your lunch money and I definitely don't want your lunch!" said Sunset as she stared at the carrot.
"Eh, speak for yourself" said Trixie as she ate the carrot.
"I sure hope you catch the cooties for that!" said James as he watched the carrot go down Trixie's throat.
"Anyways, word around school is that you know a lot about erasing memory!" said Trixie.
"Oh yes! I've erased a ton of memory just this morning!" said Micro chips.
"You did?!" asked Sunset.
"Oh yes! Here, see for yourself! Four terabytes of Quantel-Accelerflex memory to be precise" said Micro chips as he brought out his device.
".......He's not the one..........but I will grant that that's impressive" said James as he walked away with the girls.
After that, the trio interviewed everyone else. They soon stopped at a classroom but everyone inside it had never even heard of the memory stone.
"It seems like we've only come up with dead ends but I mean.......it could be worse" said Trixie.
"It's worse.........." said Sunset as she looked out the window.
There they were, Sunset's friends were outside and they were all about to take the photo for the yearbook. Twilight stopped for a moment because she saw Sunset staring at them from the window.
Despite Sunset's facial pleas, Twilight worriedly turned away...since she also felt a little scared of Sunset and she soon took the picture with the rest of her friends using her repaired drone camera.
Seeing this caused Sunset to walk away from the window and away from all this sadness.
"I don't know what to do anymore James, I don't know if there's anyone else left to ask" said Sunset.
"It's strange though........if your friends are still part of the yearbook committee, I thought they'd have seen the votes and they would have also seen that you were included as part of the best friends winner for the yearbook. After all it's only people's memories that are erased but not the paper or computer records there. Maybe someone at the committee tampered with them?" said James.
