"It's Fenix's car. You'll meet him and Kaylee along at the rendezvous. They'll be leading you." she said.

"Kaylee huh? How long has she been here?" he asked.

"About a year more than me, why?"

"I know her from a long time ago, there's a history."

"What kind of history?"

"The complicated kind."

"Ok, so now that I know your taste in cars, tell me, what about your women?" she insisted, changing the subject.

I was curious about this answer. It was surprising that he asked about me at all. I don't know what to expect from him anymore and that makes me uneasy. Not knowing what to expect with Dominic Toretto can be dangerous.

"It all starts with the eyes; she's gotta have those kind of eyes that can look right through the bullshit to the good in someone. 20% angel but 80% devil and down to earth. Ain't afraid to get a little engine grease under her fingernails." he said.

"That doesn't sound anything like me." Gisele muttered.

"It ain't, I was lucky enough to have two women like that in my life. One I pushed away out of fear and doubt, the second I lost but it wasn't the same as with the first. I couldn't see all of her light because I was afraid and now I'm stuck in the dark again." he said.

"That's sad, have you moved on yet?"

"I'll never be able to move on." he said, shaking me down to the core.

I can't let him in again, it's dangerous to the peace that I've settled for in my life. It took me a long time to be able to pretend that I was over it all, over him but I won't let old feelings take over.

"I've got to get to work." she said.

"I should be leaving too." Dom said.

Not to make any noise I moved through the back of the garage out of the emergency exit. My heart was beating a mile a minute and I couldn't explain to myself why. The fresh air was good, helped me clear my head slightly. After a few seconds I made my way back inside, shouting out Gisele's name.

"I'm right here." she said dejectedly.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked.

"Nothing, why are you here?" she asked.

"Campos told me to find you."

"Right, how do you know Toretto?" she asked suddenly.

"Excuse me? Why is that any of your business?"

"Why didn't you tell us that you knew him?"

"Campos knows."

"He does?"

"Yes, and my knowing Dom has nothing to do with my life now so none of you needed to know about it. He's a part of my past." I told her.

"Are you sure about that?" she insisted.

"Again Gisele, none of your business. Now are we going to get to work or do I have to do this on my own?" I asked.

"No, I'm sorry I'm not used to being rejected."

"I'm sure it wasn't you."

"What do you mean?"

"Toretto wouldn't know a good woman if she hit him in the face." I muttered, opening the hood of my car.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Checking something in the engine, I heard a weird pinging when I was driving here."
