Dom and I had already packed a bag, it was in the trunk of the car. While Brian packed his Mia called me inside and I already knew what this was about.
"How do you feel?" she asked.
"I'm just chipper."
"Cut the bullshit Kaylee, I knew something was wrong as soon as you pulled up but I never imagined it would be something like this. Why would she stay away?"
"I don't know but we're gonna find out."
"Kaylee, we don't know what happened, don't be . . ."
"Mimi, I love you, I really do but please don't tell me how to handle this situation. There's no way for me to decide on that from now. I'm not happy about this at all but I'm here, I'm not okay with this in the least but I'm going to go and find out what the hell happened. Not knowing what the hell we're walking into I have a right to have a goddamn attitude. I don't want to lose him again." I whispered at the end.
"You're not going to . . ." she started but stopped when she saw the look on my face.
"Even you can't finish that sentence. I thought there was no way to lose him before and look at what happened. I'll go because . . ."
"Because you're Kaylee and that means that no matter what the problem is you're always there to help your family. Trust him, he loves you." she said softly.
"I love him too, more than I'm sure is healthy in a normal relationship but we never claimed to be normal. I'll watch them Mia, all of us are coming home with or without Letty." I told my sister.
"Be careful, take care of yourself. Don't do anything stupid." she said.
"That's funny Mimi, really funny. You know most of what I do is stupid but it works, it gets things done." I said with a smile.
"You are something else."
"I'm smiling . . . that alone should scare you." I told her, walking towards Dom who just came outside with Brian.
"What was that all about?" Dom asked when he saw the worried look on his sister's face.
"Nothing, just bothering Mia." I replied.
"You watch her, don't let her do anything stupid!" Mia shouted to the guys.
Both of them just looked at her, than at me and shrugged their shoulders. Everyone knows that stupid is pretty much what I do, it's what I do best and it gets me results. I don't tend to measure the risk factor of things . . . sometimes.
"Are you guys ready to go?" I asked them, not looking at either one of them.
"Yeah, we're ready." Dom said.
Dom and Brian went in his car and I took my car that I had left here, I've got some friends that are going to get our cars from the airport and drop them off back at Mia's. The flight to London wasn't bad, I kept mostly to myself while the guys spoke about the possibilities of what we were heading into. As much as I want to say that I'm ready for this I'm really not.
At the airport we found Tej and the four of us made our way to wherever Hobbs will have us staying. The thought of working with my uncle is weird and not something that I'm comfortable with given the present situation but I'll do what I have to do.
While we were pulling up to the building Roman, Cara, Han and Gisele pulled up. We said all of our hello's, and hugs and kisses were given since we haven't seen anyone since Mia's baby shower before heading inside.
I told the guys to head inside ahead of me as my phone started ringing. Dom looked at me curiously but I insisted and answered the quick phone call from the nuns back home. They had my test results, it was just a cold thankfully.
