"No don't you do that to me! I've managed to stay dry eyed . . . this morning." I told her, waving her away.
"Come on, let's have breakfast." Brian said, ushering a teary Mia to the table.
"Let's eat." Dom said as he sat down and pulled me down into his lap.
"The ring is so pretty young lady." the owner said with a twinkling smile as she walked by our table.
"Thank . . . oh you sneaky man. You told her to talk me up last night, didn't you?" I asked Dom.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." he said.
"Don't you lie to me Toretto, you asked her to keep me busy didn't you?"
"She thought it was sweet." he said.
"Dom, man when did you get that ring?" Brian asked.
"Back in LA."
"You've had it all this time?" I asked, tears threatening to spill over once more.
"I bought it after I first saw you again. After looking for you for so long I wasn't about to let you go. I would have followed you to the end of the world woman, as long as it meant that I got you back. And now that I have you back I plan to keep you forever." he said with the biggest smile on his face.
"Te amo bebe." I whispered as a lone tear rolled down my cheek.
"I love you more." he replied, wiping away the tear and giving me a quick chaste kiss.
"Now you really got her going." Brian said as I heard Mia sniffle.
"I'm just so happy." she said between sniffles.
"So are we." I said.
After breakfast we left to start the house hunt. It took us a few days and the owner of the B&B was a sweetheart. She enjoyed having us there, during her normally slow time and the guys did minor repairs on things for her while we were there. It took Mia and Brian a week to find a house, this big, beautiful place by the sea.
Brian was a bit skeptical and on the fence about it at first because on the outside it kind of looked bad, but once we went inside and he saw the look on Mia's face he couldn't say no. We obviously didn't have much with us so after they purchased the house we were allowed to move in the very next day.
Apparently it had been on the market for quite some time but no one wanted to buy it and the owner just wanted to get rid of it. They purchased it with the original furniture that was already in place and then they purchased whatever else they wanted to personalize the place.
Dom and I helped them settle in and redecorate before we went searching again. It took us another week before we found our own place. It was a big two story apartment really, not as big as Mia's house but it was spacious and close enough to her for all of our comfort. There was a garage space on the first level and that made most of the decision for us.
It had three rooms and the master was huge with a pretty balcony on the left side, overlooking the water. It was perfect for us and that's all that mattered. Mia was a little sad when we left but we were close enough for her comfort as well. As the months passed we got more comfortable and Mia got bigger, a fact that she loved very much.
"Kay, come here quick!" she shouted one afternoon.
"What?" I chuckled, walking in from the kitchen.
At this point every little thing about her pregnancy delighted her. From her slightly swollen feet to the few inches bigger she swore she got everyday. We all were delighted by her happiness though, everything she did made all of us smile.
